Fans of “Star Wars Rebels” have waited seven years for it, and the upcoming second season of “Ahsoka” promises to fulfill that long-desired reunion. The excitement for “Ahsoka” season 2 has been ignited at “Star Wars Celebration 2025”, and journalists Molly Brizzell and James Hunt from “ScreenRant” have shared exclusive glimpses of the teaser trailer while on location in Japan. With the new cast members announced, it’s hard not to be thrilled about the return of “Ahsoka” next season.
Season 1 of Ahsoka followed the journey of Ahsoka Tano and her apprentice Sabine Wren as they ventured to another galaxy in search of their missing friend, Ezra Bridger. Their goal was to keep Grand Admiral Thrawn from returning to the main Star Wars galaxy. Although Sabine and Ahsoka managed to bring Ezra back home, they were unable to stop Thrawn and found themselves stranded on Peridea instead. Interestingly, while the title suggests a show centered around Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan, it also served as a reunion of sorts for four key characters from Rebels – Ezra, Sabine, Chopper, and Hera Syndulla.
The Ghost Crew Is Back, & Now In Live-Action

Since the announcement of characters from Ahsoka, there has been much anticipation among fans of Rebels, eager to witness their beloved characters transition into live action. To date, only two characters from Rebels have made appearances in live-action – Chopper in Rogue One and Zeb Orrelios in The Mandalorian season 3. Now, a teaser for Ahsoka’s second season hints that all surviving members of the Ghost will be featured, marking the first time viewers get to experience them together on live-action screen.
Despite Kanan Jarrus’ absence from the Ghost crew following his sacrifice in Rebels season 4, it’s exciting to know that Zeb is set to reunite with his found family. With Ezra Bridger having traveled across galaxies to return home, it will be delightful to witness him engaging once more with Hera, Chopper, and Zeb. During the Celebration Stage event, Ahsoka’s actress, Rosario Dawson, hinted that Ezra and Hera will team up against Thrawn – a development that should appease fans who felt their reunion at the end of Ahsoka season 1 was not quite enough.
Ahsoka Season 1 Stumbled, But Season 2 Can Fly

Viewers found themselves disappointed that Zeb was absent from season 1 of Ahsoka, with only brief mentions by Sabine and Ezra following their reunion. Seeing Zeb in live-action in The Mandalorian alongside Carson Teva, who later appeared in Ahsoka, made it seem as though his inclusion could have been effortless. However, the decision to leave him out felt like a missed opportunity. Although Ahsoka was generally well-received, some emotional scenes did not resonate as strongly as they potentially should have.
In the second season of “Ahsoka”, it appears that Ezra, Hera, and possibly Zeb are teaming up again. Fans are optimistic that any emotional mishaps from before will be resolved. With Dave Filoni’s exceptional writing, these emotional scenes combined with top-notch content make “Ahsoka” a promising contender for some of the best “Star Wars” material in recent years. Regardless if “Ahsoka” season 2 meets expectations or not, fans of “Rebels” can look forward to their beloved found family being reunited soon.
