In this latest round, I find myself captivated by the tale the game unfolds, a crucial element that seemed less prominent in earlier DOOM installments.
In contrast to the last two contemporary games, Dark Ages depicts the Slayer as a powerful weapon employed in a conflict against the armies of Hell. Manipulated by the Maykrs, he is unleashed like a nuclear strike, wielding his edged shield and an array of weapons to battle waves of demons.
Displaying both cinematic sequences and interactive gameplay, this grisly first-person shooter remains visually stunning. To put it simply, we’re drawn in by the added narrative; while it may not appear overly convoluted, it promises to provide additional context for all the combat action.
Towards the closing moments of the preview, there’s a hint at a monster that resembles Cthulhu or is strongly reminiscent of him. Engaging in combat with such cosmic entities undeniably sounds exciting.
