Starry Studio, the developer behind Once Human, has shared details about an upcoming update that introduces cross-play functionality for the game. On their Steam platform, they’ve explained how the game’s account system will allow progress to be synced across different versions of the game, while also mentioning potential restrictions.
If PC gamers wish to experience the mobile (iOS or Android) version of “Once Human“, they can do so seamlessly by logging into the mobile version of the game using their Loading Bay account, or by linking their Steam or Epic Games account.
Players who primarily use iOS and Android devices may encounter limitations when it comes to cross-platform progression and compatible accounts. It appears that only the Loading Bay account can be used to transfer progress from mobile devices to a PC version. At this time, Steam and Epic Games accounts are not supported for this feature.
The feature of cross-platform progression is planned to arrive in the game ‘Once Human‘ via a complimentary update scheduled for April 23rd. This update will become accessible on all editions of the game, including those on PC, Android, and iOS devices.
In March, an important update was rolled out for Once Human, introducing specialized trade zones within the game. As a result, players no longer need to contend with other players’ vending machines crowding the various in-game hub areas. Instead, the update has introduced Harvesters’ Markets, serving as the official trading zone within the game.
The studio stated that trading is pivotal in Nalcott for building relationships, as it not only allows you to obtain fresh goods but also introduces you to potential friends who would otherwise be unknown.
After the introduction of permanent scenario servers in March, new zones specifically designed for trading were incorporated into the game. Previously, these servers would close once players finished their scenarios, but now, thanks to an update, players can linger in the scenario server for a prolonged period.
In addition to the changes in March, a significant upgrade was introduced which facilitates sharing resources among multiple players. As a result of this update, players no longer need to independently farm materials for each character. Instead, they can now easily distribute their resources across all their characters.
The studio explained that by combining these resources, a noticeable and unbeatable advantage would be given to players who specialize in a single character over those who play various characters. By utilizing the character with the maximum Blueprint Collection level, all other characters on your account will experience an upgrade in their Blueprint Collection level. This means you’ll have more freedom to create and utilize new characters. If you’ve invested in multiple characters, we will grant Starchrom rewards according to the combined Blueprint Collection levels of your other characters.
Once Human” is a versatile, no-cost multiplayer game playable on PC, smartphones running Android, and iPhones.
