Daisenryaku SSB coming to PS5 on July 17 in Japan

On July 17th, SystemSoft Beta is set to launch the PlayStation 5 edition of strategic war simulation game Daisenryaku SSB in Japan, priced at 7,678 yen, as per their recent announcement.

Initially, Daisenryaku SSB debuted exclusively on PC in Japan on February 3, 2022. Afterwards, it became available on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on December 8, 2022. However, the planned Steam release did not materialize.

The game titled “Daisenryaku SSB” is a strategic simulation where you control and engage troops like tanks and aircraft on a grid-based battlefield. Since its inception, the AI of this series has proven to be challenging, and it’s often praised as being both straightforward yet profound.

In simpler terms, Daisenryaku SSB offers a Scenario Mode that includes both friendly and hostile characters populating the game map. Additionally, it provides a Free Mode where you’re given flexibility to customize the map’s settings without the pre-existing units!

Scenario Mode

Includes five scenarios created from the latest international situation! Protect Japan’s future!

The list of scenarios is as follows:

  • Taiwan Crisis – Battle between China and Taiwan.
  • The Communist Unification of the Korean Peninsula – Battle between the Korean Reunification Army and the Peacekeeping Army.
  • Recapture of the Senkaku Islands – Battle between the Self-Defense Forces and the Chinese army.
  • Ainu Independence – A three-way battle between Japan, China and Russia.
  • United States Civil War – Battle between the US regular army and the rebels.

Free Mode

You’re welcome to replay the same map multiple times, making adjustments to various settings whenever you wish, including the initial military funds. Additionally, in the manufacturing category, you have the ability to modify the list of weapons that each base produces.
