After the successful opening weekend of “Sinners” at the box office, a fresh report has added complexity to the studio’s tale about the film’s required gross revenue for profitability, suggesting a potentially lower breakeven point.
According to Puck, Warner Bros. anticipates a significant break-even point of approximately $170 million for the film, considering additional income from home entertainment sales – an uncommon approach. Normally, studio films need to earn about 2.5 times their production budget to reach the break-even point, which translates to around $225 million for this movie. However, if Puck’s estimation that the actual budget is closer to $105 million is accurate, the traditional break-even point would be $260 million.
