Studio Bend and PlayStation have just rolled out an update for the recently launched PC version of Days Gone. As they eagerly await the launch of the upcoming Broken Road DLC, this update includes enhancements to the game’s graphics and compatibility with the haptic feedback function on a DualSense controller.
A key aspect of the update for Days Gone lies in enhancing the visual appeal of its game world. Although the developers haven’t provided extensive information about this in the patch notes, they’ve hinted at new sky atmospheric and simulation effects that significantly improve the quality of the game’s skybox by creating more realistic intensities of sunlight. Similarly, these lighting enhancements also contribute to making the nights in Days Gone much darker.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that it seems these visual upgrades in the PC version of “Days Gone” are intended to align more closely with the upcoming “Days Gone Remastered” on PS5, hitting shelves on April 25. The PS5 release boasts not just visual enhancements, but also new gameplay modes such as Permadeath and Speedrun mode. These exciting additions, along with the Horde Assault mode, will be accessible via the “Broken Road” DLC on PC, priced at $10 and launching simultaneously with the PS5 version of “Days Gone Remastered” on the same day.
Initially launched on PlayStation 4 in 2019, “Days Gone” eventually found its way onto PC in 2021. This open-world game immerses players into the role of a biker fighting for survival amidst a world overrun by zombies. A notable aspect of “Days Gone” is the significant role played by the protagonist’s motorbike, not just as a means to explore the vast open world but also as a vehicle that can be customized in multiple ways, from improving fuel efficiency and speed to enhancing its ability to dispatch zombies effectively.
In its PC debut, Days Gone rolled out boasting several new options like New Game Plus, Survival Mode, Challenge Mode, and additional motorcycle skins. Furthermore, it was enhanced with various features tailored for PC gamers, such as flexible frame rates, superior graphics, and compatibility with ultrawide monitors.
As the PS5 launch draws near, there’s been a fresh trailer unveiled for the remastered version of Days Gone, highlighting its innovative Horde Assault game mode. The sneak peek offers a glimpse into hordes of colossal zombies, along with new characters players can control in this mode, which include Boozer, O’Brian, Iron Make, and a NERO soldier.
