Alien Franchise Unleashes Shocking New Alien: Earth Teaser Just in Time for Earth Day

The franchise began in 1979, with a fresh release every ten years since then. Recently, in 2019, it debuted its first television series, an animated sci-fi horror web series titled Alien: Isolation, and another is planned for the future.

In anticipation of Earth Day on April 22nd, the upcoming sci-fi horror series titled “Alien: Earth” has unveiled a fresh teaser and poster. This new offering serves as a prequel within the franchise, taking place two years before the events depicted in the initial “Alien” movie. As of now, the release date for “Alien: Earth” remains undisclosed. Stay tuned for more information!

In the initial promotional material, a xenomorph is depicted with its jaws agape and the planet earth nestled at the base of its throat. The event’s launch date for this summer is hinted at in the poster, which carries the tagline, “a treat.” A one-minute teaser in the second promotional piece showcases “Phase 1 – Rapid Cell Division,” where a xenomorph emerges from an embryo, followed by footage of a lab monitoring the process. The final poster, titled, “Experience the dawn of Earth’s new era,” presents a xenomorph embryo growing right in the heart of the Earth.

A spaceship accidentally lands on our planet. A young lady and an unconventional team of military personnel then stumble upon something that forces them to confront Earth’s most dangerous enemy.

The production of this show started back in 2019, and it got officially unveiled in December 2020. The filming is scheduled from July 2023 to July 2024, pushed back from its original timeline due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. A sneak peek of the series will be revealed soon, and it hints at both familiar Xenomorphs as well as other creatures that might serve as foundations for new hybrid species, similar to the short clips released on Earth Day recently.

In a more conversational style, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, and Adarsh Gourav are set to star in the upcoming sci-fi horror show from Noah Hawley. This talented creator is not only writing but also directing the FX series.

Alien: Earth Already Has Plans for Season 2

After the worldwide success of the 2024 film “Alien: Romulus,” earning $350.8 million against a budget of $80 million and receiving favorable reviews from critics, the Alien series is experiencing a boom in popularity. This is further evidenced by the upcoming release of “Aliens: Earth.

Despite the fact that Aliens: Earth hasn’t premiered yet and I haven’t had a chance to gauge the reactions from critics and viewers, there are hints suggesting it might return for a Season 2. A report mentioned Dana Gonzales, who directed several episodes in Season 2, is listed as the director, with Bangkok, Thailand being the official location – the same spot as the first installment. This, combined with her statement in August 2024 that “It could be the next 10 years of my life, for sure,” makes me optimistic about the future of this show.

Aliens: Earth will premiere on FX on Hulu this summer.
