Oblivion Remastered Now Live on PS5

According to several recent rumors, it has been confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is now available for PlayStation 5, having officially been unveiled previously.

Although it’s labeled as a ‘Remastered’ version, this reimagining seems to veer more towards the realm of remakes. Constructed using Unreal Engine 5, it undergoes a comprehensive graphical transformation from the ground up, accompanied by numerous gameplay adjustments throughout the entire journey.

The fighting sequences and overall character movements now feature fresh animations, and the user interface and menu layouts have undergone a total overhaul, with the classic gameplay serving as the starting point for these updates.

To clarify, the foundation of this game is reminiscent of the classic Oblivion, meaning you’ll find similar in-game mechanics and overall layout.

Indeed, among the offerings in the Remastered version, you’ll find The Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine – two captivating expansions from the original Oblivion game.

In essence, it’s Virtuos, a major studio mostly situated in France, that has taken on the task of remastering Oblivion. However, Bethesda, the original creator, is keeping a watchful eye throughout this process.

Once more, you can purchase Oblivion Remastered today across North America and Europe, each version costing $49.99 or £49.99, while the Deluxe Edition retails for $59.99 or £59.99.

Said Deluxe Edition includes:

  • Akatosh Armor Sets & Weapons
  • Mehrunes Dagon Armor Sets & Weapons
  • Digital Artbook and Soundtrack App

To play the game on PS5, its size is quite substantial at around 119GB, which might necessitate creating some space on your console’s memory.
