Netflix has announced that production of “Enola Holmes 3,” the third installment in the detective series, has started in the United Kingdom. Starring Millie Bobby Brown (known for “Stranger Things” and “The Electric State”) as Enola Holmes and Henry Cavill (renowned for “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” and “Man of Steel”) as her older brother Sherlock Holmes, this franchise was one of Netflix’s early successes with original movies. Following the release of the first film in 2020, it was only natural that sequels were planned. We saw “Enola Holmes 2” two years later, but fans have been eagerly awaiting news on “Enola Holmes 3.” Now, it seems we won’t have to wait much longer as production has officially begun!
In addition, we’ll learn about the plot of Enola Holmes 3, including the actors who will appear in it. As expected, Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill reprise their roles as Enola and Sherlock Holmes respectively. Louis Partridge (known for his roles in Disclaimer and Pan) returns as Tewkesbury, Enola’s love interest. This time around, the trio embarks on a new adventure that leads them to Malta, where Enola must tackle another mystery. The story is adapted from the book series, The Enola Holmes Mysteries, by Nancy Springer.
The plot of Enola Holmes 3 follows detective Enola Holmes as she’s drawn into an adventure that takes her to Malta. Here, her personal and professional aspirations intertwine in a complex and dangerous case, unlike anything she has encountered before. As of now, there isn’t a confirmed release date for Enola Holmes 3, but Netflix assures fans they will be updated when the time is appropriate.
In the cast of “Enola Holmes 3,” we have Himesh Patel from “Yesterday” and “The Assessment,” who will portray Dr. John Watson; Helena Bonham Carter, known for her roles in “The Crown” and the “Harry Potter” series, will play Eudoria Holmes; and Sharon Duncan-Brewster, famous for her work in “Dune” and the upcoming “Ballerina,” has been cast as Moriarty.
Enola Holmes 3
In the director’s chair for this upcoming film is Philip Barantini, renowned for crafting the continuous crime drama Adolescence. Jack Thorne, the screenwriter of the previous Enola Holmes movies, returns to pen the script, inspired by The Enola Holmes Mysteries penned by Nancy Springer. Interestingly, Barantini secured the directorial position when he expressed a desire to make this third installment reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, suggesting a potentially more ominous atmosphere compared to its predecessors. This hint could offer insight into where Enola Holmes 3 might be headed, should it indeed adopt a darker tone.
Barantini’s four-part series titled “Adolescence” featured Stephen Graham, and they had previously worked together on the 2021 drama film “Boiling Point.” This movie portrayed the intense pressures of a restaurant’s busiest night, and it generated some buzz a year before “The Bear” transformed this concept into a successful television series.
Millie Bobby Brown was recently seen in another Netflix film titled “The Electric State“, directed by the duo, Joe and Anthony Russo, who are famous for their work on Avengers: Endgame. However, unlike their Marvel projects, the reception for “The Electric State” has been negative. In fact, it is currently the worst-reviewed film by the Russo Brothers in two decades. The movie stars Millie Bobby Brown alongside Chris Pratt and Ke Huy Quan, who won an Oscar.
