In the realm of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, I’ve discovered that there’s no other Mage Staff quite like the Staff of Light. It stands out because it’s recognized as a Masterwork – the pinnacle of craftsmanship and power in our gaming world. Simply put, this staff is the crème de la crème!

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but marvel at its uniqueness. Not just because of its prestigious status, but also due to its unmatched damage among all Mage Staffs. Moreover, what sets it apart is the intriguing quest you must complete to acquire it – a journey that isn’t as straightforward as obtaining most others!

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything required to get this unique Mage Staff.

How to Get Best Mage Staff – Staff of Light | RuneScape: Dragonwilds

To obtain the Staff of Light initially, you’ll need to acquire its recipe first. This can be achieved by traveling to the farthest west region within Bramblemead Valley, where you’ll discover the Runecrafting Guild near one of the Dragonkin Vaults. Approach the area and the “Highlighting the Problem” quest will automatically initiate for you.

Upon reaching the Runecrafting Guild, seek out a towering Ramus Lumen statue. Interact with it and attempt to use the dialogue options without success. Alternatively, a journal can be found near this statue suggesting you inspect the surrounding vault. Inside the vault, you’ll encounter another statue.

According to the instructions in the book, head towards the southeast direction from the Runecrafting Guild. This path will lead you to a substantial cliff with several ledges. Utilize these ledges to leap across and eventually arrive at the base of the cliff.

After that, simply head south until you spot the entrance to the Dragonkin Vault. Once there, proceed as usual within the vault.

As you make your way along the vault, you’ll eventually come across the spot displayed earlier, which is quite cluttered with debris and allows faint light to trickle in through the overhead cracks.

When you get to that spot, orient yourself towards the south, where you’ll see a significant archway high up in a red brick structure. Utilize the Windstep spell to propel yourself towards the archway and grab hold of it.

After that, simply walk along the straight path and you’ll come across a statue standing alone at an end point. Identified by some blue torches nearby, it should be easy to locate. Interact with this statue, and it will transmit the Runecrafting Guild’s password into your mind. As we understand, this password is always Phentorok. That’s the initial step completed!

Returning to the Guild

After conversing with the statue in the Dragonkin Vault, it’s time for you to head back to the Runecrafting Guild. Once there, revisit the Ramus Lumen statue you initially interacted with during this guide. This time, choose the password provided by the other statue from the available dialogue options.

As a devoted admirer, once I’ve chosen my password, an orb appears before me. A voice resonates within my mind, guiding me through the necessary steps. My quest is to carry this orb to each pedestal atop the towers surrounding the Runecrafting Guild. Upon completing this task and returning to Ramus Lumen’s statue, I eagerly await the next instructions.

To start with, locate the pedestal that’s easily accessible, it’s situated right beyond the statue. In other words, aim for the highest vantage point initially. Afterward, make your way up using the Windstep and leap onto the tower to eventually reach the pedestal. It’s really straightforward!

After utilizing it, head towards the northeastern sloping rooftop and ascend as far as possible. Once you’ve climbed as high as you can, utilize Windstep to get to a balcony on your right-hand side. There’s even a treasure chest on this balcony waiting to be opened for some additional loot!

Peer towards the northeastern corner of the balcony and you’ll likely see the second pedestal. Navigate your way up using the Windstep, but be aware that this one can be quite challenging to leap onto. If you find it difficult, try jumping from the balcony walls first to gain some additional distance.

To find the third and last podium, head towards the northwestern corner of the Runecrafting Guild. You’ll see a tower with several crates piled around it nearby.

Climb atop the crates, then utilize Windstep to ascend the tower’s summit. Once there, activate the last pedestal and make your way back to Ramus Lumen’s statue carrying the fully-charged orb.

Claiming and Using the Recipe

After following the instructions to fully charge the orb, approach Ramus Lumen’s statue for the last time. This interaction will trigger a concluding message from the statue and grant you the blueprint for crafting the Staff of Light. With this newfound knowledge, it’s time to create the staff yourself!

For that, you’ll need to get a Smithing Anvil and the following materials:

  • Blightwood x16 – Obtained by chopping the pale roots of large trees in the Bloodblight Swamp region.
  • Wild Anima x8 – Can be made at a Kiln by using Anima-Infused Bark x4.
  • Sapphire x4 – You can it by mining Gold Deposits in the Bloodblight Swamp region. Requires the Gem Prospector Perk, which unlocks at Level 16 Mining Skill.
  • Vault Shard x12 – Obtained by defeating Vault Guardian enemies inside any Dragonkin Vault.
  • Vault Core x1 – Obtained as a reward from looting and exploring Dragonkin Vaults.

Lastly, here’s the stats for this Masterwork Mage Staff:

  • Durability – 1300
  • Damage Multiplier – x4.5 Rune Damage
  • Attack Combo – 4
