Race Across the World Unveils Unlikely Duo: Adventurous Housewife and Seasoned Backpacker Son!

9pm excitement is back on track! The popular series, Race Across the World, is making a comeback with all-new episodes.

This year, I’m excited to be part of the audience as a fresh group of pairs embarks on an exhilarating journey unlike any other, traversing China, Nepal, and India. They’ll face challenges along the way, but their goal is to reach each checkpoint on schedule. Can’t wait to see what adventures await them!

One pair among many consists of Caroline and her son Tom, who have contrasting travel styles.

But what is there to know about the pair? Read on as Caroline and Tom embark on an epic race.

Who are Caroline and Tom?

Relationship: Mother and son

60-year-old Caroline, who is primarily known as a housewife, aims to demonstrate that she’s much more than just a mother. She’s currently competing alongside her son, Tom, who’s 21 years old.

Before the big event, I, being well-traveled, found myself eagerly anticipating a new adventure. However, Caroline, with a life that hadn’t yet allowed for extensive journeys, yearned for an experience that would challenge her comfort zone.

Caroline remarked, “Thomas seems better equipped to handle some difficulty, as I see it.” She admitted, “I’m not accustomed to such circumstances, but I’m ready to endure them. That’s why we’ve got the sleeping bags, and we’re willing to sleep in bus stations and make do with whatever means necessary to save money.

For just a short while, I’ve accepted that this situation is temporary. Soon, we might be able to rest comfortably, clean ourselves, and eat well. This thought should give us the motivation to carry on.

With previous experiences of backpacking through South America alongside friends for half a year, Tom found himself fully equipped to tackle any obstacle that came his way.

Why did Caroline and Tom want to take part in Race Across the World?

Much like Melvyn, Caroline decided to apply after she had previously seen Race Across the World, which motivated her.

Tom consented to try out for the program, acknowledging that he hadn’t believed there was much hope they would make it.

He mentioned: “I essentially agreed just to please her. Later on, when we received a response, the closer we got, the more and more I became enthusiastic about exploring the world with my mother, which is not something I would typically opt for. However, I’m really grateful we did it. It was unique, but incredible.
