2-time Massachusetts diving titlist Maisey O’Donnell, along with her Concord-Carlisle High School companions Jimmy McIntosh and Hannah Wasserman, tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Florida, approximately a month before they were set to graduate from the Boston-adjacent school. A fourth occupant, an 18-year-old female, is still fighting for her life in critical condition.

18-year-old high school seniors were driving an SUV along the Florida Panhandle’s highway around 9:30 PM on April 21, which was their school’s initial day of spring break. Unfortunately, as they traveled, their vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer that was making a U-turn in the median strip, according to the Florida Highway Patrol’s statement to TopMob News.

After crossing over the central divider and both eastbound traffic lanes, the vehicle carrying the teenagers came to a stop off the road, according to police. They reported that Jimmy, who was driving, and Hannah sadly lost their lives at the scene. Maisey and an unidentified fourth passenger were severely injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The community at Concord-Carlisle High School has been informed about a heartbreaking car accident that occurred on Monday night in Florida, which sadly resulted in the deaths of two seniors, Jimmy McIntosh and Hannah Wasserman. This was confirmed by Dr. Laurie Hunter, Superintendent of Concord-Carlisle Regional School District, in a statement released on April 22, as reported by Boston TV station WCVB.

The message went on to say, “We extend heartfelt sympathies to Hannah’s and Jimmy’s loved ones at this difficult moment. Our school family and the communities of Carlisle and Concord will all share the profound sorrow of their loss.

Later on that same day, the superintendent provided an update, stating: “It was confirmed that a third senior from CCHS, Maisey O’Donnell, had unfortunately passed away this afternoon. In a recent statement, she mentioned that Maisey is enrolled in an organ donation program, with her family hoping that it might lend significance to these senseless tragedies.

In a heartfelt manner, Maisey was often characterized as warm-hearted, amusing, and intellectually gifted. Her laughter, particularly during moments when the world seemed insignificant compared to our shared joy, will forever hold a cherished place in my memory. Emmy expressed that she’ll forever cherish every car ride to school, family trips, grocery shopping, and gym outings with her sister. She went on to say, “Everyone adores you so much,” and added that she believes her sister will continue to watch over her. Emmy pledged to make her proud and wished her peace.

Maisey, who was all set to go to Williams College, got numerous messages of appreciation from friends and relatives on social networking sites instead.
