Jason Biggs is focusing on his wellness journey.
Actor from “American Pie” has shared his journey of losing 35 pounds, citing health issues and unhealthy dietary choices as the main factors behind it.
Speaking with Page Six on April 22, I openly shared that I’ve been dealing with some challenges related to my cholesterol levels. It might be due to the excessive intake of ice cream pints I sometimes indulge in.
After 46 years, he found it took some time to manage his cholesterol levels and shed excess pounds, yet he successfully achieved these goals by altering his eating habits and workout regimen.
“It’s been a journey,” he continued. “My cholesterol came down 70 points.”
It’s not surprising that Jason looks fit now, as he has always been open about his health issues in the past. In fact, the former star of “Orange Is the New Black,” who is a father of two – Sid (11) and Lazlo (7), with his wife Jenny Mollen – opened up about his battle with alcoholism last year.
In a March 2024 episode of his wife’s “All the Fails” podcast, he admitted that while he’s currently attending therapy and addressing various issues, after a productive session, he left therapy and headed to the liquor store. There, he bought a bottle of vodka, consumed it, and then drove home. His intention was to get drunk enough to detach himself from his life, escape the present, and avoid experiencing emotions.
He mentioned, “I had everything planned perfectly. I made sure not to drink so much that I couldn’t talk to you. In fact, I kept refilling the bottles at the bar throughout the night.
Although he’s been over seven years without alcohol, Jason marked his first year of sobriety in 2018 with an emotional and inspiring message for his audience.
5 years ago, he struggled with his addiction to alcohol and drugs, and it became unbearable for him. He shared on Instagram that he attempted to get sober then, but discovered that recovery can be incredibly challenging.
He went on to say, “After some ups and downs, I’ve successfully completed a year without alcohol. This achievement makes me incredibly proud, perhaps more so than anything else in my life. If you find yourself in a similar struggle, remember there is always help available. Never let shame hold you back. Together, we can overcome this.

The twice crowned FIFA Women’s World Cup champion has been candid regarding her past misuse of Adderall during her college soccer years when she was dealing with various injuries.
She shared on the Question Everything with Danielle Robay podcast that she had become heavily dependent on Adderall and often misused it. Instead of using it as prescribed, she took it frequently. This led to periods where she wouldn’t sleep for days. The situation was intense; she felt like she might have a heart attack. Her methods of consumption were problematic, including crushing and snorting the drug. In simpler terms, her addiction had spiraled out of control.
However, in the midst of her struggle, her college coach Anson Dorrance was there to support her.
She shared that the environment became extremely dim, necessitating some significant modifications, to which Anson suggested reading books. One of these books was titled “Man’s Search for Meaning” and it delved into the topic of enduring hardship and reinterpreting it, ultimately transforming her life.
The Valley star shared his decades-long battle with drugs in March 2025 after going to rehab.
During the March 4th episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast, Jax confessed that he struggles with addiction, specifically to cocaine. He admitted it wasn’t easy for him to verbalize this fact.
He mentioned that he’s had periods of dealing with something, off and on, ever since he turned 23, and now at the age of 45. There have been moments when he stopped engaging in this activity, but there have also been stretches where he got deeply involved with it again.
Apart from quitting cocaine, Jax has also decided to stop consuming alcohol. He doesn’t believe he has an alcohol issue per se, but he finds that the two substances often go together for him. In his words, “I can’t use cocaine without drinking.” Therefore, he chose to abandon both substances altogether. Currently, Jax is 82 or 83 days sober, which marks the longest stretch in his life without either substance.
The lead actor in the movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home” gave up alcohol consumption in 2022, feeling trapped by its grip on him. As he shared on the podcast “On Purpose with Jay Shetty”, Holland admitted to being addicted to alcohol without any hesitation. He further stated that anyone who drinks a beer every day might be grappling with a small but persistent issue.
Then comes a point when you think, ‘Oh, I wish I hadn’t had that extra drink last night,'” the actor went on. “And the next morning, you find yourself with a severe headache.
After adopting the new lifestyle, Holland found that he was sleeping more soundly and managing issues more effectively.
He confided, “Matters that typically upset me on set, I could handle more easily now. My mental state was far clearer. I felt more vigorous, more robust.
The lead actor from “The Hunt for the Red October” seldom discusses his alcohol recovery process, a journey he embarked on nearly four decades back.
He mentioned that the topic doesn’t come up frequently in conversations, but he does bring it up occasionally if it’s relevant. As of May 2024, he has been sober for 39 years, having become sober on February 23, 1985.
After relocating from New York City to Los Angeles in 1983, Alec shared his experiences, stating, “For two years straight, I battled a blazing issue, and it seemed I inhaled cocaine from here to Saturn. We’d bring it home. You see, cocaine was like coffee during that time – everyone was using it day after day.
And after quitting the drug, he soon turned to alcohol—only to also quit that dependency.
Today, he relies on the city around him.
He mentioned that New York has a calming effect on him, describing it as his home. As he strolls through its streets, he discovers new facets of the city that he’s never noticed before. A building might catch his eye, making him exclaim, “I can’t believe I’ve never noticed that about that building, those doors.” He enjoys meals and coffee with friends in the city.
In an interview with the New York Times in April 2024, the actress who starred in The Princess Diaries announced that she has been sober for over five years. She expressed that this achievement represents a significant milestone for her.
In my own words, I acknowledge the clarity in her thoughts: “I instinctively knew deep within me that it wasn’t suitable for me. It felt excessively demanding to express ‘none’ was an option, but none it was. Just as one doesn’t argue with a food allergy or a severe reaction, I chose to stop arguing with my intuition.
She expressed her satisfaction about the choice she made, adding, “I find things are improving since then.” In other words, she found it to be a positive influence, and she dislikes dwelling on negative feelings.
During her acceptance speech for the 2018 Woman of the Year Award, given by the Peggy Albrecht Friendly House – a home dedicated to helping women conquer addiction from substances and alcohol – Moore discussed the self-damaging route that almost caused a halt in her professional journey.
In simpler terms, the individual shared that they believe there are pivotal experiences in our lives that determine who we become and the paths we take. Early on in their career, they found themselves heading towards self-destruction and no matter what achievements they gained, they always felt inadequate. They had a low perception of their own worth, leading them to a critical juncture where it wasn’t clear why. Reflecting on this period, they suggested that it might have been some form of higher power guiding them.
In 2012, Moore expressed gratitude towards two individuals she barely knew, who presented her with a challenging situation that essentially told her to change her life. She humorously said, “Unless I was dead, I better show up,” further explaining that this encounter provided her an opportunity to alter the trajectory of her life before it fell apart completely.
In their eyes, I was more visible than I perceived myself to be, and for that, I am deeply thankful. If they hadn’t seen something in me or had not believed in me, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
In 2022, Cyrus disclosed that she had been in recovery from her Xanax addiction since 2020. She explained to Rolling Stone, “Xanax provided me with a sense of structure during a time when I desperately needed it, as I didn’t want to simply be idle and overthink.” She added, “It gave me a glimmer of hope.
The singer commented, “When I realized there was a momentary respite from the cacophony and a way to dull the hurt, that was when it ended.
She mentioned that her friends at one point appeared to tacitly approve of her drug habit, creating a sense of an ever-deepening abyss. However, during the pandemic, Cyrus admitted she faced difficulties and felt emotionally disconnected. “I kept drifting off and falling asleep,” she reminisced. “I was unable to stay awake or keep my eyes open, as I had sunken too deep.
She eventually sought help and noted that “it took some time to get on my own two feet.”
16 years ago, the former star of “Parenthood” had been living a sober life until a motorcycle accident in 2020 led to a relapse, where he resorted to using Vicodin.
Over the past two months, approximately, he mentioned on his Armchair Expert podcast that he spends a lot of time using them, but he’s unsure about the exact duration. He stated that due to a prescription, he can use them at certain doses, and in addition to this, he also increases their effect.
He went on to express his dislike for the situation, admitting he was deceiving others. He acknowledged the need to stop, but his tolerance had grown so rapidly that he found himself consuming about eight 30mg doses a day, aware of the potential for a difficult withdrawal. This realization made him increasingly anxious and lonely, carrying an immense burden of secrecy.
Back in 2018, the actress who starred in Halloween opened up about her decade-long struggle with opiate addiction that started in the late ’80s following a minor cosmetic surgery to address her family’s genetic puffiness around the eyes. This led to a prescription that significantly impacted her life. “I had a 10-year journey, involving theft and deceit,” she shared with People magazine. “Nobody knew. Nobody did.
In the summer of 1998, when Curtis’s sister came to visit and brought painkillers prescribed for a rib injury, Curtis admitted she reached her lowest point. She confessed to the publication, tears streaming down her face, that she had secretly taken all the opiates from her sister’s suitcase in the guest room closet. When her sister was about to leave, she knew she would notice the missing pills. So, Curtis wrote a letter confessing her actions and left it on her sister’s suitcase. Upon returning home that day, her sister embraced her, expressing love and concern, and voicing her unwillingness to watch Curtis take her own life.
On February 3, 1999, she participated in her initial meeting, coincidentally the same day she confided in her filmmaker spouse, Christopher Guest, about her battle. “He found it hard to believe he hadn’t noticed,” Curtis stated, further explaining that she has remained sober since then.
In 2021, Barrymore publicly announced a significant achievement in her personal journey by revealing that it had been nearly two and a half years since she last consumed alcohol. She shared this on CBS Mornings, stating, “For the first time in a long while, I’m admitting: I have not had a drink of alcohol for two and a half years. It’s something I recognized no longer benefited me in my life.
She mentioned, “It’s quite amusing. Exposing ourselves, our hidden aspects, and what we have labored on intensely, feels both empowering and exposing simultaneously.
Later on, Barrymore clarified to the Los Angeles Times that she avoids using the term ‘sober’ as she doesn’t want others to perceive her as a ‘perfect Puritan’, implying someone who strictly adheres to moral and religious principles.
In 2023, she reflected, “I had been telling myself, ‘I’ll conquer this, I’ll find a solution,'” but eventually came to understand, “Truth be told, I never did master this, nor will I ever.
During the 2000s, the actor from “A Star Is Born” faced challenges with cocaine addiction. However, during that time, his friend Will Arnett intervened and spoke candidly to him about his problematic actions.
During his 2022 interview on the Smartless podcast, Cooper recollected that moment as the first time he acknowledged his struggles with substance abuse, an experience he will always remember vividly.
As a devoted follower, I can attest that Arnett played an instrumental role in my decision to lead a sober life. His courageous act of engaging in a challenging discussion with me served as the catalyst, guiding me towards the path of self-transformation and making the choice to alter the course of my life.
In simpler terms, the main character from Fight Club had trouble with alcohol for many years, but Cooper assisted him in overcoming his addiction to alcohol. He acknowledged this during his speech at the 2020 National Board of Review Annual Awards after receiving a trophy from Cooper, stating that he has been happier each day since then because of Cooper’s help.
In September 2023, the former star of Cruel Intentions posted on Instagram that it had been the longest stretch since his teenage years that he hadn’t used any form of nicotine or cannabis, along with other substances.
He expressed gratitude for the liberation achieved by overcoming addictions and freeing himself from the hold of substances. He found sobriety, understanding, and a deeper sense of spirituality to be incredibly fulfilling.
In 2018, during her tour, the singer proudly marked six years without alcohol. However, she left fans surprised and saddened later in the same year when she disclosed a relapse through the release of her introspective song “Sober.
Mom, I apologize for my state, I’m no longer sober. Dad, please understand, I’ve spilled drinks on the floor due to my condition. To those who stand by me, I’ve been here before and I’m truly sorry, but right now, I’m not in control.
A month later, Lovato was hospitalized for a near-fatal overdose.
Two weeks ago, she posted on Instagram, “I’ve always been open about my battle with addiction.” She went on to explain, “This illness doesn’t go away or diminish over time. It’s something I’m still working hard to conquer…Right now, I need time to heal and prioritize my sobriety and recovery journey. The support you’ve given me is something I’ll never forget, and I eagerly anticipate the day when I can tell you I’ve come out victorious on the other side. I will keep struggling.
In 2018, she spoke about her struggles with sexual and alcohol dependencies. “My addictions tend to shift,” she explained, adding that in her younger years, she believed she might have had a hidden sexual addiction, as if everything could be resolved through sex. She also opened up about recognizing she’d developed an alarming drinking issue.
She recalled hitting a low point when she was alone at home, with two bottles of wine already finished and about to open a third. It made her pause and think, “Wait a minute. Here you are, all alone in this house, finishing off your third bottle of wine? Maybe there’s an issue here that needs addressing.
She shared, “I chose to quit abruptly, which is typical for me. I can abruptly stop doing things, and I need to be mindful because I tend to become overly engrossed in activities. This time it was about quitting a habit.
She went on to explain, “It’s not the action itself that matters but the motivation behind it. Why are you doing what you’re doing? It’s the behavior connected with it that needs scrutiny. If you enjoy having a lot of sex, that’s fine, but ask yourself why you’re engaging in so much of it. That’s the question to ponder.
One member of the Backstreet Boys admitted to experimenting with drugs for the first time prior to filming their 2000 music video “The Call.” Years afterwards, he confessed to Good Morning America that he felt extremely energetic during the shooting due to drug use. He achieved sobriety in 2021 and experienced numerous positive outcomes within a year, such as shedding 32 pounds over a seven-month period by giving up alcohol and fast food.
He stated on Today in September 2022 that excessive drinking led to an increase in his weight, but it also negatively impacted his emotional wellbeing.
Following Mac Miller’s untimely demise, the rapper known as Bow Wow admitted on Twitter that he had once battled an addiction to cough syrup. In a series of tweets, he expressed his concern for young people and warned them against such harmful substances:
“Young ones, stay away from these foolish drugs,” he began. “I’m going to confess something. During the time I worked on the FACE OFF album with Omarion, I was high on lean every day! When you saw me on BET arguing with Torae, I was high on lean. My attitude and everything changed. My fans turned against me, even my family. I never promoted lean in my songs. The whole time I was on the UCP tour with Chris Brown, I was sipping 4’s at least seven times a day. I was addicted until our show in Cincinnati… I came off stage and passed out; woke up in the hospital, suffering from withdrawals.”
“I have never felt pain like that before,” Bow Wow continued. “It was summer, but I walked around with three hoodies on because I was so cold. I missed the Chicago show of that tour and the Baltimore show because I was high and sick! That’s not cool, and I did it to be cool! Quit that stuff! Be a good son or daughter. Be the best you. I will start being more vocal. We must save the youth from going out too early. Parents, watch your kids. Talk to them. We want you to live, man. I almost died from syrup.”
“To this day, my stomach…will never be the same,” he concluded. “And it hasn’t been. Being drug-free is the way to go. Smarten up, tighten up! We can’t afford to lose any more of you. Not one! I love all of you. The young artists, all the kids around the world… don’t follow a trend. Break the cycle. PEACE.
2018 saw Gwyneth Paltrow’s husband, Chris Martin, and she staging an intervention following a dramatic incident at Kate Hudson’s Halloween party. The actress had unintentionally headbutted Orlando Bloom in a state of intoxication due to excessive cocaine use and alcohol consumption, causing herself to lose consciousness. This event exposed the height of her addiction struggles, as detailed in her fourth studio album, “No Shame,” and memoir, “My Thoughts Exactly.
She shared with The Guardian, “I found nothing that resonated or fulfilled me. One day during those difficult times, I woke up contemplating, ‘Perhaps heroin would be the solution since nothing else seems effective.’
During the 1980s, an actor from The Parent Trap struggled with a cocaine addiction that eventually led him to rehabilitation in 1990. In a later interview on Today, he shared that he grew up during the ’60s and ’70s when there was a significantly different viewpoint about this drug.
In 2018, he openly acknowledged that his daily routine during the 1980s included using cocaine and that this habit was also found in some film budgets. He confessed to frequently pleading with God to take away his addiction, promising never to do it again, only to find himself saying at 4 pm, “It’s not so bad.” This suggests he struggled with the addiction but often chose to continue using despite his work commitments and religious pleas for help.
In a moment I’d later come to call my ‘white light episode’, I found myself staring at a grim reality where it seemed I had either passed away or was about to lose everything precious to me. Overwhelmed, I needed to share this strange encounter with my then-fiancée, Meg Ryan. She sat there, puzzled and concerned, as I tried to find the words. Eventually, I sought help and that marked the end of my destructive love affair with cocaine.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that back in 2018, Ryan Lochte, the renowned Olympic swimmer, chose to seek treatment following an unfortunate incident in Newport Beach. His representative explained to TopMob News that for quite some time, Ryan has been grappling with alcohol addiction. Regrettably, it has led him down a harmful path. He has recognized the need for professional help and is immediately seeking assistance to conquer this challenge.
For Ryan, it’s crucial to overcome this illness immediately, as doing so will help him avoid future mistakes, be an exceptional husband and father, and if he aims to regain his top form for the pool in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics – his fifth.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: My personal journey towards sobriety was significantly influenced by my relationship with Melanie Lynskey. Although the general advice is not to change such life choices for someone else, her presence played a pivotal role in my decision to abstain from alcohol.
During his interview on The Drew Barrymore Show in March 2023, he expressed that at some point, he realized how extraordinary she was and believed she would be perfect for someone who truly deserved her. However, he didn’t feel like he was the right person for her. Instead, he felt a bit unstable or out of sorts.
However, as Ritter noted to TopMob News, he now sees that sobriety is ultimately a personal choice.
In the initial stages of their relationship, he found it simpler to claim that his actions were for her because, at that point in time, he felt he wasn’t particularly valuable. He didn’t mind causing himself pain as much as causing her harm. As a result, it was easier for him to assert, “I’m doing this for her.” However, now, he’s doing it for his own sake.
For almost a decade now, the nation’s beloved singer has maintained his sobriety, but achieving this milestone wasn’t an easy journey. His struggle with alcohol and painkillers started shortly after he graduated from high school, persisting even as his career flourished. He admitted to carrying a black leather laptop bag containing bottles of Jagermeister or vodka, keeping it within easy reach at all times, as reported in People. During the day, he would take breaks every hour and a half to two hours for a couple of strong drinks from the bottle, and every three to four hours he’d need a pill or two.
He confessed that it didn’t hinder his achievement in any way. “I wasn’t wandering aimlessly throughout the day,” he clarified. “Instead, I was operating at full capacity – I composed more songs back then than I do currently. That was the unsettling aspect.
Towards the end of 2011, he ended up in the hospital due to pancreatitis, and was warned that if he didn’t stop drinking, he might not celebrate his next birthday. He attempted to make changes gradually, such as limiting himself to two pills per day or drinking only a certain amount from his bottle and marking it, but these efforts would last just a few days—until someone threw a party.
Eventually, realizing I needed help, I checked myself into rehab on December 18, 2011. It had become evident to me that this was something I couldn’t tackle alone. It infuriated and humiliated me, yet I am a determined individual. However, this was the one aspect of my life that I just couldn’t seem to conquer.
