Lens launches August 28 in Japan

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the chilling horror adventure game, now known as Lens, which was formerly called Renzu, is set to drop on August 28 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This spine-tingling journey will be available in Japan for 7,200 yen, but remember to factor in the additional tax, making it 7,920 yen in total. The announcement was made by publishers Nippon Ichi Software and developers Orgesta. Can’t wait to dive into this terrifying world!

In the city of S, there’s been a string of mysteriously vanished individuals; bizarre communications through texts and videos; an application for taking pictures of ghostly entities; and indications of a spell that seems visible only to you…

Following an apparently insignificant event that led to a dreadful curse, the main character delves into exploring eerie sites filled with potential hints. Steadily advancing, they move closer to uncovering the chilling secret behind the curse that has been steadily taking hold of them.

■ Story

As Hayato Tsukumo, a ghostly tale-spinner for the magazine Aghastia, I stumbled upon an eerie whisper during my routine information gathering: residents of S City have been inexplicably vanishing, one by one. The shared link among these mysteriously absent souls is their visits to haunted locales and receiving enigmatic messages on their mobile devices.

While showing interest, Tsukumo is currently engaged with another news piece. Yet, an enigmatic message and video also appear on his cellphone.

Overcome by his eagerness, Tsukumo couldn’t help but watch the video. And just like that, an application for a camera stained with blood mysteriously installed itself onto his mobile device. Following this, a spine-tingling message appeared.

“You have been cursed.”

A woman’s voice whispers suddenly in his ear…

“Find… my… precious…”

And then, Tsukumo loses consciousness.

Ever since that harrowing ordeal, my everyday existence seems utterly transformed. Strange black markings, visible only to me, have started cropping up, and my health deteriorates with each passing day. It’s as if a malignant force is systematically sapping the life from me little by little…

But he refuses to stand around, waiting to die. He resolves to break the curse—and survive!

Tsukumo Hayato

In recent times, our story revolves around an author contributing articles about occult matters for the periodical Aghastia. With a growing competitor publication on the rise, this character has been ardently delving into city lore and whispers to keep pace. However, in a twist of events, he finds himself under a mysterious curse.

Hikari Saotome

In a more conversational style, one could say: Tsukumo’s older colleague is responsible for arranging articles within the occult magazine Aghastia’s editorial department. She is known for her trustworthiness and stability, showing great appreciation for Tsukumo’s proactive nature.

Shinichirou Nitta

As a college contemporary of Tsukumo’s and a novice contributor to the supernatural periodical, Aghastia, I find myself immersed in a realm where friendliness and outgoingness are my constant companions. Although my expertise doesn’t lie within the intricacies of the occult, my fascination with folklore has been nurtured over time, making me a reliable guide through these mysterious tales.

Takehiko Umimura

The person responsible for maintaining “S Cemetery,” which is often discussed by those interested in the supernatural, has unfortunately fallen ill and been admitted to the hospital. As a result, the cemetery is currently experiencing a period of disregard.

Tsuyoshi Oomizo

A working professional frequently goes on business journeys. Currently, he’s trying to find his wife, Kanae, who vanished during one of his longer trips.

■ Uncover the Secrets Hidden in the Darkness

The main character, Tsukumo, ventures into numerous eerie locations on a mission to discover hints which could possibly lift the spell afflicting him. His equipment consists of a flashlight to navigate through the gloom, and a cursed camera application designed to photograph apparitions. He uses these tools to seek out peculiar occurrences within these haunted environments and scrutinize anything that seems amiss.

At supposedly haunted sites, unusual occurences may take place. If you hear an eerie whispering noise, consider opening your camera application. Using this allegedly cursed device, you can snap a picture of a ghostly presence hiding in the shadows. By taking such photographs of these seemingly supernatural occurrences, you’ll be one step closer to revealing the mystery behind the curse.
