Following intense criticism over the complete halt of The Crew game, Ubisoft, its publisher, has shared an updated video detailing their ongoing work towards introducing offline play options for both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest.
In it, producer Grégory Corgié explains the team’s current progress and plans for the rest of 2025.
He mentions that the team is initially concentrating on creating an offline version for The Crew 2, and they’re making steady progress in its development. Meanwhile, The Crew Motorfest continues to receive ongoing updates after its launch.
By the year-end 2025, a versatile play mode is planned for The Crew 2, enabling players to transition seamlessly between online and offline gaming at their convenience.
In simpler terms, they’ll implement the complete offline gameplay at a later stage. For now, Ubisoft Ivory Tower is using a hybrid mode for testing and adjusting settings specifically for offline gaming.
Initially, The Crew 2 will get an offline mode, while The Crew Motorfest will follow suit with theirs at a later time.
Community trials for the PC version of the game will start towards the end of this month. However, it’s important to note that hybrid and offline play options are planned to roll out across all platforms in the future.
