Indiana Jones PS5 Is Selling Faster Than on Xbox and PC, Claims Analysts

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my time with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle since it launched on the mighty PS5 earlier this month. The game has made quite an impact on Sony’s platform!

Based on a comprehensive study conducted by data analysis company Alinea Analytics, it’s been revealed that the game has surpassed sales of 100,000 units on PlayStation, and it’s currently performing better than its version launched on Steam in terms of initial sales.

Although the company doesn’t disclose the specific details of its approach, it claims that it offers the “most precise data available”. To learn more about their methodology, we plan to reach out to the company for additional information.

At present, the report indicates that MachineGames’ new release is currently outpacing sales on PS5 compared to its performance on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Notably, this is remarkable given that it launched later on PlayStation 5, post the primary promotional phase.

According to Alinea Analytics’ findings, fewer individuals chose Early Access for the four-month-old game, as expected, but since the official launch of the PS5 version, it has clearly surpassed its Steam equivalent in sales. This coincides with the launch date of the full release.

The report further states that the PS5 edition is outpacing its Xbox counterpart in sales, however, it’s important to note that the game’s availability on Xbox Game Pass adds a degree of uncertainty to this comparison.

The article indicates that approximately four and a half million Xbox gamers have sampled the Indy adventure, with most of these experiences stemming from subscriptions. Furthermore, it suggests that Game Pass is essentially eating away at the sales of premium games. In essence, this strategy doesn’t seem to be yielding the expected returns for the company.

This study delves into the overlap of individuals who own Indiana Jones for PS5 and have previously engaged in action-adventure titles such as Uncharted or Tomb Raider, and not surprisingly, the correlation is quite significant.

However, since we’re not fully aware of the methods used in generating the data, it might be premature to draw extensive conclusions from it for the time being. What can be discerned, though, is that Indiana Jones PS5 appears to have a promising launch.
