Seeing our beloved characters experience sorrow is never easy because it stirs similar feelings within us. We empathize so deeply that we feel their pain, wishing we could console them through the screen. Such an emotional scenario would have been evident in Sam’s case given his character and past losses he has already experienced.

Thanks to the cancellation, we were fortunate enough to avoid witnessing that difficult departure. The previous NCIS: Los Angeles character’s emotional exit from NCIS was left off-screen, which saved us from the distress of watching someone we knew leave completely.
