However, the primary issue with the Oblivion Remastered’s visuals lies in its departure from the original’s aesthetic. While personal preferences may vary when it comes to character races, appearances, and wardrobes, there seems to be a consensus that the brown filter does not enhance the game’s overall look.

Compare the initial version and the updated one, then let me know any differences you notice. Rest assured, there’s no dirt on your screen. It appears that the development team has made adjustments to the Look Up Tables (LUTs).

The problem with the Oblivion Remastered graphics lies in their overuse of brown tones. It’s attempting to create a realistic atmosphere similar to early 2000s modern shooters, but instead, it makes the verdant fields of Cyrodiil appear dull and uninteresting.

In the reworked version, the imagery took on a soft, dream-like quality. The colors, particularly green and blue, stood out vividly, creating an impression of a lush, thriving environment. Compared to the Oblivion realm, it appears more like a paradise rather than the literal depiction of hell.

Fortunately, the problem is swiftly resolved as a mod fixes it right away. The Ayleid Reshade mod, available for download on the Nexus website, enhances Oblivion Remastered’s visuals to resemble the original game more closely. After downloading and installing it, you’re all set!

Why So Brown

In a more conversational manner: They nailed the audio and voicework, aiming for a slightly eerie quality with the new voice lines. However, an obvious problem, which seemed impossible to miss by the filters, was somehow overlooked?

I won’t repeat myself, but let me make this clear: This game takes up 125GB on your storage. Since it’s consuming such a large amount of space, it should be quite visually appealing! As the game progresses, I’m confident that various specific demands will be catered to by mods, such as costume and item restorations or retextures.

While some individuals might express indifference towards the brown hue or even prefer it, that’s perfectly okay; after all, there are those who find pleasure in drinking their own urine, but this does not make such behavior universally acceptable or correct. However, I cannot maintain a serious conversation with you by claiming that the original’s color scheme is inferior to yours.

Perhaps I’m being excessively critical, or perhaps my criticism is justified given the high cost of this modern reinterpretation for a 17-year-old’s project!

Maybe I’m overly critical, or maybe I have good reason to be, considering the substantial investment made on this contemporary adaptation for a teenager!
