It appears that nostalgia is trending, with NBC’s Suits spinoff Suits LA and the news that Mark Feuerstein will return as Dr. Henry “Hank Lawson” in a reboot of Royal Pains. Additionally, USA Network intellectual properties Psych and Monk are being considered for revivals. (Source: Variety)
Over the years, both “Psych” and “Monk” have consistently thrived on streaming platforms. “Psych,” which aired from 2006 to 2014, featured James Roday Rodriguez and Dulé Hill in leading roles. Notably, this series spawned three movies: “Psych: The Movie” (2017), “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home” (2020), and “Psych 3: This Is Gus” (2021). Similarly, the series led by Tony Shaloub also had a movie spinoff, titled “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie,” which was released in 2023.
Psych 4 Update from Series Star
It has been mentioned that talks have taken place at Peacock regarding potentially expanding both the “Psych” and “Monk” series universes due to the success of their streaming films. Just recently, it was also reported that James Roday Rodriguez, who stars in “Psych” and co-wrote its first three movies, stated that…
Roday Rodriguez’s creative team is all set, having been prepared, but unfortunately, collaboration is key. If fans wish to create a buzz, they ought to focus their enthusiasm on Peacock. In 2023, Rodriguez confirmed that the script for ‘Psych 4’ was completed, yet filming never started. He explained, “Everything was in place, and we were ready to announce it, but unfortunately, we couldn’t coordinate everything at the right time as everyone had other commitments. Now, we just need to regroup, wait for Peacock to decide they want to fund it again, and hopefully, we’ll be back on track.
Royal Pains Revival Confirmed
It’s been announced that the popular series “Royal Pains” is getting a reboot, and its original star, Mark Feuerstein, is involved. The show originally aired from 2009 to 2016. In this revival, Hank (Feuerstein’s character) will be seen seeking a new purpose in life and embarking on his biggest project yet, several years after the original series finale. Feuerstein is also set to serve as an executive producer for the new show, but no other cast members have been confirmed at this time.

Suits Offshoot Welcomes Original Series Star
Right now, NBC is broadcasting “Suits LA”, a fresh spin-off of the 2011 series “Suits”. This new version features Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Megan Markle, and Sarah Rafferty, who were part of the original “Suits” cast as guest stars in three episodes.
Macht mentioned reprising his role in a prior conversation, expressing, “I felt, ‘Why not?’ I could offer something back to the fans as they’re so eager for more of this character. If I can assist the show in any way and draw some attention to it, that could be a gracious handover. They devised a plan that fit with my family’s circumstances, and here we are.” He stated this.
All shows such as “Suits”, “Royal Pains”, “Monk”, and “Psych” can be streamed on Peacock. “Suits LA” is currently airing on NBC and also available for streaming on Peacock.
