Oblivion Remastered – Shrine of the Crusader Quest Guide

Now that the enhanced edition of “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion” has been released, you can enjoy the Knights of the Nine expansion pack featuring improved visuals. One of the missions in this expansion is titled “Shrine of the Crusader,” which initiates once you complete a specific task that involves discovering shrines dedicated to various deities scattered across the map. In this tutorial, we will walk you through completing this quest.

Shrine of the Crusader Quest Guide

The “Shrine of the Crusader” adventure begins directly upon finishing the “Pilgrimage” quest and after taking a short break for reflection. If you haven’t finished it yet, our guide on “locating the nine shrines of the Nine Divines” will be beneficial to you in your search.

Right after the vision concludes, you’ll get an update informing you about the whereabouts of a missing sanctuary. Without further explanation, your task will be to head towards that place and search for the specified artifact hidden within.

Simply navigate by the prominent red symbol on your map. This guidepost will direct you towards a submerged location to the southeast of the Imperial City. Rest assured that it’s hard to stray off course, so just head to where the marker indicates and then dive into the water.

Head for the designated watery ruin, where you’ll eventually discover a stone entrance – your gateway to Vanua. Step inside this opening to commence your quest for the relic, hidden within.

Upon entering, continue straight ahead towards the northern direction, bracing yourself for any adversaries along the way. Eventually, you’ll find a cul-de-sac with a button on its side; make sure to push it there.

By pushing the button, a route ahead pointing towards the northern direction unfolds. Stick to this straight path and eliminate any skeletons you encounter. Simply continue moving northwards towards the quest symbol, and you won’t lose your way in this dungeon.

Heading north, you’ll come across a hidden crevice in the stonewall. Venture inside and follow the pitch-black tunnel until you stumble upon a wooden door. Beyond this door lies a brand new area known as the ‘Shrine of the Crusader’.

In this specific location, make your way by maneuvering around the gaps in the wall. You’ll eventually discover an unoccupied chamber, where a fallen knight lies on the floor. The presence of a sword and shield next to him suggests that this is the remains of Sir Amiel. If you engage with his body, the quest should automatically provide fresh tips for your progress.

After gathering his belongings, especially his diary, it becomes clear that he belonged to an order known as the Knights of the Nine. This religious group’s purpose was to reclaim the Crusader’s Relics.

Following this action, you’ll be given the exact location of their former stronghold, known as the Priory of the Nine. It’s essential that you make your way there. Don’t forget to remove everything associated with him, especially the ring.

With the key you’re carrying, you can now unlock the gate to your west, allowing you to move deeper into the dungeon. This path eventually takes you to a different door, which leads to a fresh area known as the “Lost Catacombs”.

As you step into the fresh area, proceed by climbing the steps ahead and continue until you spot a gap in the wall that points towards the south. After passing through this opening, you’ll find yourself in another corridor ending at a door leading back to the “Shrine of the Crusader”.

Walk through the door ahead and continue along the straight path until you find an open space with a glowing brazier featuring a blue-tinted flame. Nearby, you’ll see an altar upon which rests the Helm of the Crusader. Grab it to finish this section of the quest!

After finishing that task, you’ll get a notification saying you’ve just completed the Shrine of the Crusader quest. Right away, once the pop-up window closes, you’ll be presented with the Priory of the Nine quest, which offers the next part of the crusader gear. This objective is quite simple to accomplish.
