One such piece of content that caught my attention is the Battlehorn Castle – a grand addition to your in-game real estate portfolio! Did you know it harbored some hidden secrets? As a curious gamer, I’ve stumbled upon some hidden treasures tucked away within this grand castle. If you’re eager to uncover these secrets without delay, let’s dive straight into the one that lies just steps away from the main entrance.

Secret #1 – The Hidden Room With a Hangout Spot

Initially, upon stepping into the castle, proceed directly to the upper level and advance forward until you find your Private Quarters. Once inside your personal space, move straight ahead towards the bookshelves positioned at the end of the corridor.

Position yourself next to the circular table and gaze at the wall on your side, which corresponds to west if using a compass. By examining the compact pillar near the bookshelves, directly beneath the picture frame, you’ll notice that it is interactive.

Once you switch on this pillar, the wall adjacent to it will slide back, unveiling a secret space. In there, you’ll come across several chests containing common treasures, along with snippets of lore and assorted oddities scattered about.

From my perspective as an enthusiast, there’s a hidden gem tucked away on the castle’s ceiling – a secret trapdoor! This magical entrance leads you to the rooftops where you can savor breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding landscapes. Notably, there’s a cozy table, some chairs, and mugs left behind, hinting that the past owners enjoyed their time here from time to time.

Secret #2 – The Hidden Door to the Basement + Undead Area

Next up, make your way back to the primary access point of the building. Once there, locate the entrance on the west side. As soon as you step inside this room, turn towards your left, and you’ll spot more petite pillars similar to the ones seen in the earlier secret.

Once more, triggering this will open another hidden chamber. Inside, there’s a wooden door that leads to the basement of Battlehorn Castle. Step inside to directly access the wine cellar. From here, you can proceed to the training grounds where the real secret lies awaiting.

In a cozy little gaming nook, an archery target waits at the far end. Nestled right in the corner, there’s an intriguing candelabra that I can mess around with. Giving it a try, I find it illuminates a hidden cave, which leads to another wooden door, waiting to be explored.

To gain access, simply proceed through the door towards Battlehorn Castle’s subterranean hideaway, the Grotto. You’ll notice yourself in a dimly lit corridor with numerous staircases. Continue along the straight path until you hit a wall at an end, where you’ll encounter some compact pillars that bear a striking resemblance to something recognizable.

In this instance, engage with the movable pillar located to your left. Doing so will unveil the path ahead, enabling you to access the genuine grotto concealed beneath the castle.

In this location, you’ll discover the remains of Lord Kain, whom you can defeat for an exclusive collection of gear. The following is a list of the items he drops upon his death:

1. Mysterious Amulet
2. Eternal Warhammer
3. Ancient Shield
4. Mythical Helm
5. Legendary Sword
6. Ornate Armor
7. Enchanted Gauntlets
8. Rare Boots
9. Valuable Ring
10. Mysterious Scroll

  • Lord Kain’s Shield – A decent heavy shield that also adds a light effect around you, letting you see in the dark without the need for a torch or any use of spells.
  • Dragonsword of Lainlyn – This weapon is a leveled one-handed blade, which means that it will match whatever level you have when you first acquire it. It is an enchanted weapon that will absorb fatigue and deal fire damage, and these will have varying values depending on its level.

Additionally, a character called Arielle Jurard, known for being lethal, resides in this location. Upon your entry, she’s poised to attempt taking you down. The items she leaves behind are as follows:

  • Decrepit Note – Just a regular note. Likely the last one Arielle Jurard has written before his passing.
  • Lich Key – This opens a chest in the grotto, which would normally have a very hard lock.
  • A random staff – The lich will drop a random type of staff that matches your level.

Scattered throughout the cave’s surroundings, you’ll find numerous oddities, among them some elusive and highly prized Varla Stones. Be sure to collect them before departing!

Once more, you’ll find a chest nestled at the base of the cave, partially submerged by water. Its contents are ordinary, so don’t anticipate any extraordinary items within.
