It appears that Ghost of Yotei is likely to share the same quality in its soundtrack as most of Sony’s exclusive games do.
Listeners can now stream the central melody of the game, created by Toma Otowa, across all popular streaming platforms.
Here’s a preview of the track via Spotify:
Previously, we’ve caught snippets of this tune in both the launch trailer and the latest release date teaser. Now, for the first time, we can enjoy the complete composition, playing it all the way through.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but notice that the music shares some resonance with Ghost of Tsushima’s melodic theme. Yet, it carves out its unique identity with a blend of string instruments and rhythmic percussion, maintaining an unyielding momentum all its own.
In keeping with typical themes of a revenge narrative, the tale vividly portrays the feelings of anguish, fury, and resoluteness within protagonist Atsu, who relentlessly pursues the notorious Yotei Six.
Toma Otowa has worked on various composing projects in the past, such as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Afrika, Knack, and more, with additional contributions to films like Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie 2, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines.
The spirit of Yotei won’t be available until October 2nd, 2025; however, until that time, you can listen to it repeatedly to keep the atmosphere.
