In “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered”, you’ll find a multitude of tasks, many of which are linked to guilds that players can join early in the game. Some of these quests, however, revolve around exploring dungeons or even acquiring your own residence in specified towns. One such quest is “Where Spirits Have Lease“, which initiates in Anvil. To claim the Staff of Flame, a two-handed staff with the power to inflict fire damage (500 charges upon pickup) on your target, you’ll need to complete this quest first.
This manual provides a comprehensive step-by-step instruction on completing the quest, along with the necessary actions for obtaining a Manor and the Staff of Flame within the game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Where Spirits Have Lease Quest Walkthrough in Oblivion Remastered
How To Start Spirits Have Lease Quest in Oblivion Remastered
To begin your journey, use fast travel to get to the main gate of Anvil. Once there, walk west along the street until you come across Count’s Arms on your right side. Enter the establishment and search for Velwyn Benirus; he could be seated in one of the chairs or standing near the door in the left corner. He will inform you about a manor he is selling within Anvil, which can be bought from him for 5000 Gold. After handing over the money, you’ll receive the key to Benirus Manor and the deed for it.
Carrying the key, step out of the building and walk towards the marker that lies to the east. You’ll eventually reach Benirus Manor. Once there, enter the manor and climb the stairs to locate your bedroom. After resting on the bed for an hour, you will be disturbed by three Ghosts – two in the room and one near the stairs. Handle the situation and return to the first room upon entering the manor. Inside this room, you’ll discover a Skeletal Hand and some Scrap from Lorgren’s Diary.
Return to the Count’s Arms and chat with Wilbur concerning Velwyn Benirus. He’ll inform you that Velwyn is located in the Imperial City. To reach him, you should fast travel to the Elven District, follow the marker, and enter the King and Queen Tavern. Engage Velwyn in conversation, and after your discussion, he will instruct you to meet him again at the Count’s Arms in Anvil. Locate him within the building and inform him that you are prepared to go to the Manor.
Where to Find Staff of Flame in Oblivion Remastered
Accompany Velwyn Benirus on his leisurely stroll towards the Manor. Once inside, you’ll encounter some spectral inhabitants before descending to the Basement. Downstairs, more ghosts await elimination before Velwyn unlocks a hidden door.
Interact with the Altar, and Lorgren will instruct you to touch a skeleton while holding the Bony Hand, an item you acquired earlier. Following this instruction will summon Lorgren Benirus. Defeat him, and you’ll find the Staff of Fire nestled next to his fallen form.
Return via the hidden passageway and find Velwyn at the Count’s Arms. Upon this, the mission will be accomplished, resulting in a full-scale renovation of the house.
You can use this as your house and a means of storing items throughout your journey.
