Warning! This article contains spoilers for Weak Hero Class 2.
In the final scene after the credits of “Weak Hero Class 2”, Choi encounters Seong-je. Instead of accepting his offer to take over from Baek-jin as Union leader, Seong-je refuses unexpectedly. This leaves the audience pondering about his intentions and future actions. With no official announcements regarding “Weak Hero Class 3” yet, it seems possible that this could be the conclusion for both Seong-je and the other major characters of the series.
If Netflix releases a third season for the Korean show, it’s possible that the narrative will delve deeper into the events hinted at in the post-credits scene of Weak Hero Class 2. This could involve exploring why Seong-je rejected Choi’s offer to lead the Union and how his story might continue in the upcoming season after Weak Hero Class 2. It’s intriguing to ponder over Seong-je’s decision and anticipate how his tale might unfold further.
Seong-je Declines Choi’s Offer Because He Prefers To Do His Own Thing
Despite Being In The Union, Seong-je Never Liked Authority
In numerous instances throughout “Weak Hero Class 2”, it becomes clear that Seong-je harbors a strong disdain for authority. Despite holding a significant position within the Union and being a representative of Ganghak High in their criminal organization, he has a tendency to act independently rather than adhering to orders. This defiance is further demonstrated when he gets arrested after his confrontation with Si-eun, and upon Baek-jin asking him if he revealed any information to the police. What bothers Seong-je is that Baek-jin seems more concerned about maintaining the secrecy of the Union’s illicit activities than showing concern for his well-being.
Seong-je appeared to lose trust in the Union when Baek-jin diminished his role and was ready to use violence to secure his loyalty and silence him. This encounter with Baek-jin may have shown Seong-je that leading the Union was more of a burden than an honor. He might have desired the power, but he recognized that it came at a high cost. This realization led him to continue with his own plans and decline Choi’s offer.
Weak Hero Class 2’s Post-Credits Scene Sets Up Seong-je As Class 3’s Villain
Seong-je Remains The Most Unpredictable Weak Hero Character
Initially, in “Weak Hero Class 2,” I lead Si-eun to think I’m on his team. I make him believe I’ll share secret information about the Union’s illicit activities. To some extent, I even deliver on my promise. But then, as soon as Si-eun starts trusting me, I betray him. This act clearly shows that I have no intention of joining forces with the heroes, despite occasionally clashing with Baek-jin.
The unpredictable actions of the character from Weak Hero Class 2 and his knack for making others think he’s on their side may indicate that the show is setting him up as the next major antagonist. Despite turning down Choi’s offer, it appears he has his own secret plans – ones that only serve himself and no one else. In essence, this character is a wildcard in the Korean series and seems to have a well-thought-out long-term strategy. If Weak Hero Class 3 ever comes into play, there’s a good chance he will climb the ranks and become one of the most threatening characters in the entire show.
What Seong-je Being Weak Hero Class 3’s Main Villain Would Mean For The K-Drama
Seong-je’s Return As The Villain Would Bring Continuity To The Series
In a simpler phrasing: The first class of the “Weak Hero” series has a standalone storyline, meaning all its villains are fully resolved and don’t carry over into the second class. To create a sense of continuity within the series, introducing Seong-je as one of the main antagonists in Class 3 would connect the stories between Class 2 and Class 3. Since Si-eun and Seong-je had an intense confrontation in Class 2, it’s intriguing to imagine how they might fare against each other again in a possible future battle.
As a movie critic, I find myself eagerly anticipating the potential return of Netflix’s ‘Weak Hero Class 3’. If renewed, the series could introduce a new antagonist in the form of the enigmatic Seong-je. This character might emerge as an unpredictable villain, shrouded in mystery and questionable morality that would unfold throughout the storyline. It would be intriguing to see how ‘Weak Hero Class 3’ delves into Seong-je’s backstory and clarifies his intentions, adding a fresh layer of complexity to this coming-of-age drama. Fingers crossed for the series renewal!
