V Rising: Invaders of Oakveil Update is Now Live

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Stunlock Studios has just released an exciting new update for V Rising! This substantial update since leaving early access is dubbed “Invaders of Oakveil.” In this adventure, players like myself will journey through the enchanting Oakveil woods, where we’ll encounter Megara, the venomous Serpent Queen, and her fearsome Venom Blades. It’s time to gear up and prepare for an epic confrontation!

Update 1.1 introduces a fresh area, a challenging boss battle, and new adversaries, but that’s not all! It also brings three new weapons, seven enchantments, and numerous exciting additions. Among these novelties are idle behaviors for your units and dynamic clouds that influence boss fights based on the time of day. Moreover, players can engage in combat with one another through Contests. To do this, simply set up a Dueling Banner for one-on-one encounters or create an Arena for teams to engage in fierce battles.

Additionally, the Castle will be equipped with various new facilities such as stables for taking care of and accommodating horses. Furthermore, there’s a Blood Homogenizer to blend two different blood types, offering advantages, and a Fusion Forge for merging Reforged or Shattered Ancestral Weapons.

As an avid enthusiast, I’d like to draw your attention to some updates in the latest patch notes for the game, V Rising. If you haven’t already, give it a spin on your PC or PS5 as it has surpassed the impressive sales figure of five million units! For more comprehensive details, be sure to check out the full report.

V Rising Update 1.1: Invaders of Oakveil

Patch Notes

World Updates

New Biome – Oakveil Woodlands

In the northwest lies a path that vanishes into the thick foliage of the Oakveil Woodlands, lost amidst the treacherous and untamed wilderness of this ancient forest. For centuries, it has been left alone by the people of Vardoran, unaware of the hidden danger lurking within. On its northern edge, a hostile force has secretly landed and is making ready to fulfill an ominous intent. Beneath the stern gaze of their serpentine queen, Megara, the Venom Blades carry out clandestine rituals to desecrate the land and gather valuable Venom Sap from the tainted wilderness.

It’s crucial that they don’t amass all their power, for fear they might devour everything in Vardoran, including you. So, Vampire, venture out and demonstrate that Vardoran is rightfully yours.

  • New Location – Carvers Logging Outpost
  • New Location – Venom Mixing Outpost
  • New Location – Venom Blades Bastion
  • New Location – Oakveil Shoreline

Venom Blades

New enemy faction ‘Venom Blades’ have been added to the game.

The Venom Blades hail from an unknown origin, driven by a fervent devotion to execute the wishes of their Queen Serpent Megara, whom they serve unconditionally. Upon her orders, they etch sinister ritual symbols onto trees, causing them to bleed a mystically altered dark venom sap from their living bark, which they then gather for their mysterious rituals.

Farbane Woods

A cave exit has been added, allowing players to fast travel here from Oakveil Woodlands.

Silverlight Hills

Two bridges have been constructed, linking the northern regions of Silverlight Hills with Oakveil Woodlands.

Dunley Farmlands

New Location – List Field

A fresh pathway now links Dunley with Gloomrot North, situated in the northwest region of the biome.

Gloomrot

Two connecting roads have been built to bridge Gloomrot North with Oakveil Woodlands.

Idle interactions

Units can engage in various activities when not actively engaged, such as resting against walls, farming in the fields, gathering around campfires, and so forth.

Dynamic Clouds

  • Clouds have been slightly reworked to allow for different kinds of density in different areas.
  • Some boss arenas now have denser dynamic clouds, making it easier to fight these enemies during daytime. This includes the following V Bloods:
  • Grayson the Armourer
  • Finn the Fisherman
  • Quincey the Bandit King
  • Sir Erwin the Gallant Cavalier (New)
  • Terah the Geomancer
  • Gaius the Cursed Champion (New)
  • Octavian the Militia Captain
  • Angram the Purifier
  • Mairwyn the Elementalist
  • Stavros the Carver (New)
  • Talzur the Winged Horror
  • Megara the Serpent Queen (New)

Contests

  • This update brings a new way to play PvP called ‘Contests’.
  • There are two ways to play contests: either you craft and place a Dueling Banner for one vs one combat, or you can build an Arena in your castle using the new Arena feature for team combat.
  • Contests are available in both PvP and PvE.

Dueling Banner

An added feature lets players challenge the flag’s holder for a duel. Upon completion, both combatants will be fully healed back to their original health.

Or simpler:

When placed, this new addition enables other players to issue a challenge for a duel with its owner. After the duel ends, both participants are restored to full health.

Arena Station

Provides the flexibility for enhanced Player versus Player scenarios, featuring team formation, customizable battlefields, tweaks to sudden death rules, and much more.

Castle Updates

New Stations

Stables

In my perspective, it’s a haven that makes your steeds feel like royalty within your castle. Not just comfortable, but their nutrition is carefully tailored to help them excel at their best. Moreover, you get the chance to reward your cherished equines with unique advantages, acknowledging their exceptional status.

Horses and Mounts

Introducing the Stable, players now have the convenience of automatically feeding their horses for free using plant fibers. Incorporating flowers into the stable improves the horses’ stats permanently. Furthermore, once a horse becomes a Vampire Horse, the stable offers additional benefits by providing perks that boost its overall usefulness.

Improved the mechanics for mounting, dismounting, and recalling your horse

  • Horses may now be randomized with Max speed between 7.5-9.5 (increased from 7.0-9.0).
  • Horses may now be randomized with acceleration speed between 3.5-6 (increased from 3.0-5.0).
  • Vampire horse health has been reduced by 50% (from 400 to 200).
  • Non-vampire horses can now be revived by players when downed.

Redistribution Engine

Doctor Henry Blackbrew’s second most remarkable invention! This intricate device is designed for the swift transportation of objects directly from one station to another.

Blood Homogenizer

This amazing device enables you to mix two different blood types, enjoying benefits from each. Have you ever dreamt about harnessing the swiftness of rogue’s blood and the strength of warrior’s blood? Now it’s a reality!

Fusion Forge

  • The Fusion Forge is a new station in your castle, unlocked by defeating Dantos the Forgebringer. It allows you to fuse Reforged or Shattered Ancestral Weapons, allowing you to extract the best attributes of both weapons into a single one.
  • The same process can be done with Jewels, fusing two jewels of the same type into one, allowing you to extract and combine the effects you want.

Treasury

By utilizing the Treasury, you have the ability to construct your personalized Treasury. Any item placed within this structure is incorporated into your territorial inventory. This feature enables seamless resource acquisition for crafting stations, castle construction, and player inventory crafting, as it automatically draws materials from the territorial inventory without requiring manual resource retrieval from containers.
