Teddi Mellencamp dressed to impress.
In the recent formal gathering, I had the solemn honor to make my first public appearance after announcing earlier this year my diagnosis with stage 4 melanoma, affecting both my brain and lungs. This marks a significant milestone in my ongoing fight against this formidable adversary.
On April 28th, Teddi made an appearance at An Unforgettable Evening 2025 Gala, which was a charity event for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. For this special occasion, she chose to wear a stylish black pantsuit with a deep neckline, highlighting her chunky silver jewelry adornments. To complete her ensemble, she added silver shoes and opted for a full glam makeup look.
During that particular evening, Teddi attended her first formal gathering since she had her head shaved as part of her surgery to combat her brain tumors. Afterwards, the former cast member of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” penned down some thoughts about her hair loss experience.
For approximately 75 days now, she’s been telling us that she visited the emergency room due to a persistent headache. During this visit, they found tumors in her brain and lungs, which she believes could have been developing for anywhere between half a year to a full year.
Ever since that particular day, I’ve undergone numerous surgeries, experienced anger due to steroids, felt incredibly unwell, shared countless laughs, enjoyed horseback riding, cherished my children, and experienced periods of immense joy. This was the sentiment she expressed in her April 28 post, which included a photograph showcasing the scars on her head. Upon initially viewing this image, at the sight of the scars on my head and arm, I found myself shedding tears.
Yet, she went on to say, “Afterward, a sense of warmth flooded my entire body, leaving me with an overwhelming feeling of tranquility. This serenity stemmed from the strong network of love and support I receive from my family and friends. It came from the heartfelt messages of encouragement you’ve shared here. It also came from the realization that by sharing my story, I could potentially save someone else’s life.
She concluded the post by extending good wishes to those facing similar struggles, and emphasized the importance of seeking medical attention if something doesn’t feel right. She encouraged everyone to speak up for themselves, as we are all capable of overcoming challenges together.
Teddi’s contemplation about her path occurs not long ago, following her recent disclosure of a hopeful advancement regarding her therapy.
Teddi, mother of Slate (12), Cruz (10), and Dove (5) with her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, shared on an April 23 Instagram video that her scans are now complete, revealing a substantial reduction in her tumors. This development, doctors believe, indicates success in the treatment and her return to good health and feeling well.
As a diligent supporter, I’d say, “I’ve got just two more rounds of immunotherapy left. Fingers crossed, that should be it, and I’ll be celebrating my victory over cancer!
