Netflix Confirms Some of the Best Thrillers of All-Time Will Stream in June

Netflix is preparing for a significant surge of suspenseful excitement and classic cinematic masterpieces this summer. The streaming giant plans to put forth considerable effort to make the work of Alfred Hitchcock, a renowned and impactful director in film history, accessible to an even larger audience of movie enthusiasts. This endeavor encompasses a six-week film screening series at the iconic Paris Theater in New York City, featuring both films directed by Hitchcock and those inspired by his style, as well as adding a curated selection of the director’s finest works to their platform.

Starting June 1st, Netflix is set to introduce a collection of Alfred Hitchcock’s work within its U.S. offerings. This special section on the homepage will be exclusively devoted to these classic Hitchcock films.

Although Netflix hasn’t disclosed all the upcoming Hitchcock films, they have confirmed that several of the director’s iconic masterpieces will definitely be included in their lineup. “Vertigo,” “Rear Window,” “Frenzy,” “The Man Who Knew Too Much,” “Family Plot,” and “The Birds” are set to debut on Netflix in June. However, it’s also been hinted that there will be more Hitchcock movies besides these. A clearer picture of which additional Hitchcock films will be joining Netflix should become evident when their June newsletter arrives towards the end of May.

The Paris Theater is teaming up with the New York Film Critics Circle to present a series called “HITCH! The Pioneer of Cinema Impact” from May 16th until June 29th. This program will showcase more than 50 films, many directed by Hitchcock, with around 35 being shown on 35mm film. Some of the movies included are “Rear Window,” “Vertigo,” and “North by Northwest.” You can find the complete schedule for screenings here.

The press release from Netflix states that horror and suspense remain popular in entertainment, and we’re exploring their lasting allure. The impact of Alfred Hitchcock’s sources of inspiration and innovative methods during his career continue to significantly influence today’s viewers’ craving for excitement and frights. You can experience this at the Paris Theater or stream a classic title or a new discovery from Hitchcock on Netflix.
