The Atlanta Falcons and Jeff Ulbrich are going to have to pay for Jax Ulbrich’s actions.
Following a humorous trick phone call by the child of an Atlanta Falcons defensive strategist, claiming to offer football player Shedeur Sanders a position on the New Orleans Saints’ NFL roster, the league has imposed a penalty.
According to a statement made by the NFL to NBC News, the Atlanta Falcons have been penalized with a fine of $250,000, and their defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has been fined $100,000 due to their inability to prevent the unauthorized release of confidential information that was given to the team before the NFL Draft.
On April 26, Shedeur, son of NFL veteran Deion Sanders, was selected as a fifth-round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns. However, he received a prank call from Jax the day before. The 21-year-old later issued an apology for the stunt on social media.
On Friday evening, I committed a huge blunder, Jax shared on an Instagram post dated April 27th. Shedeur, what I did was unforgivable, mortifying, and disgraceful. I’m deeply sorry for taking away from your special moment; it was thoughtless and immature.
Jax, who plays as a running back for Berry College’s football team, expressed that he could hardly conceive of such a dampening effect on what would normally be one of Shedeur’s most joyous moments in life.
The college student went on to explain, “I regretfully blundered and disrupted that instance.” I’m grateful we spoke earlier today, I earnestly pray that you can find it within you to forgive me.
In a YouTube video featuring Deion Sanders Jr., his younger brother Shedeur shared that the phone he got the draft call on was purposely arranged for receiving a draft pick.
According to what Shedeur mentioned in the video from April 26th, “The figure was merely included in an email conversation that the NFL distributed exclusively to the participating teams.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an interesting insight from my recent exploration. Later, I uncovered the details of how Jax obtained the confidential phone number – a story that ties back to the Falcons, where Shedeur’s father Deion spent his initial five NFL seasons in the early ’90s.
During a visit to his parents’ home, Jax Ulbrich, who is 21 years old, found Shedeur Sanders’ draft contact number on an open iPad. Thinking it was a joke, he wrote down the number and later made a prank call. However, the Falcons clarified that Jeff Ulbrich, Jax’s father and the defensive coordinator, didn’t know about the data exposure or the prank until afterward.
For his response, Shedeur stated that the prank didn’t bother him much; he merely considered it immature or childish.
The new Cleveland Browns player said to CNN, ‘Things are what they are.’ I wasn’t affected much by it since I generally avoid negativity and such.
