I’m quite excited about the diverse lineup of movies scheduled for release in 2025, featuring sequels, revivals, and original productions. However, I must admit that I wasn’t anticipating a “Road House 2” among them, as it was an unexpected development… until the 2024 action movie on Prime Video garnered phenomenal streaming numbers. The silence surrounding this project has now been shattered with the exciting news that Guy Ritchie will be taking the director’s chair!
Road House 2’s Hiring Of Guy Ritchie Feels Like A No-Brainer
It’s been unveiled that Road House 2 will benefit from Patrick Ritchie, who directed the boxing scenes in the Sherlock Holmes films, taking on directing duties. Additionally, Will Beale, known for writing Bad Boys: Ride or Die, is penning the script. Rest assured, fans of Mr. Gyllenhaal as Dalton, he’s expected to continue his role in the sequel.

Regrettably, that’s all the information we have for now, but it’s fair to say many of us anticipated this given the announcement of Road House 2. After all, there was much speculation about whether the director of Edge of Tomorrow would take on a sequel, given Doug Liman’s multiple issues with Amazon.
As the build-up to the 2024 release approaches and it’s clear that a Prime Video subscription is expected to see a surge due to Liman’s budget agreement with the studio, there have been numerous reports of tension in the press. Given that Road House has shown it can attract viewers, this split seems somewhat logical.

Amazon-MGM Studios’ Guy Ritchie Hire Could Inspire Some Interesting Henry Cavill Rumors
Lately, Guy Ritchie’s films have been doing quite well in both theaters and streaming platforms. Notably, “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” has been on a roll with this success. Since the first film was an exclusive on Amazon Prime Video in certain regions, and this sequel brings Ritchie together again with a star from his yet-to-be-released film, it seems like they are already working harmoniously together.
Should “Road House 2” prove successful, it could pave the way for some intriguing scenarios as a Guy Ritchie fan and an observer of Amazon-MGM Studios’ recent developments. For instance, Ritchie might breathe new life into long-awaited projects like the sequel to “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”, much like how “The Accountant 2” was revived by the studio following nearly a decade. Furthermore, an exciting prospect that’s bound to catch the attention of many is on the horizon.
With rumors about James Bond plans from Amazon-MGM Studios and Henry Cavill, a past collaborator of Ritchie’s, both being at the same studio, it eliminates two potential wishes for many James Bond fans. However, let’s focus our discussions on Road House 2, as there are currently no release dates or start dates for production.
