In the expansive Star Wars universe, certain intense and devastating moments are unforgettable for viewers. However, there are also numerous battles with both victories and losses, resulting in many casualties that fans might not have given much thought to. The Star Wars franchise offers a vast array of narratives through novels, comics, and other media that go far beyond the films and television shows. But if we focus solely on on-screen deaths, who among Star Wars characters has the highest body count?

Ezra Bridger, originally from Lothal, matures during the Empire’s rule. Upon joining a Rebel group, he uncovers his innate ability with the Force and learns to hone it under the guidance of Kanan Jarrus, on his path to becoming a Jedi. Throughout the events of Star Wars: Rebels, Ezra proves himself to be one of the team’s most seasoned combatants, taking down numerous Imperial adversaries.

As an energetic pilot and leader during the Galactic Civil War, Hera Syndulla accounted for countless Imperial lives in pursuit of freedom. Throughout the happenings of Star Wars: Rebels, Hera brought about the demolition of numerous Imperial vessels, among them a Star Destroyer, tallying at least 10,000 casualties during her exploits.

Originally hailing from Onderon, Saw Gerrera experienced conflict as part of a rebellion on his home planet. With his sister Steela, he battled the newly established oppressive government, finding covert support from the Republic. Once the Republic transformed into the first Galactic Empire, Saw recognized history’s repetition and declared war against this new authority. In the years preceding the Galactic Civil War, he worked tirelessly to rally others to his crusade.

Saw Gerrera was a relentless rebel leader, unafraid to sacrifice or take lives in pursuit of his convictions. His violent actions were first seen during the uprising on Onderon, where he took many lives amidst the chaos of war. However, it was during the Empire’s reign that Gerrera truly escalated his lethal activities. Known for masterminding numerous bombings and other terrorist acts, it is believed that Gerrera caused over 40,000 deaths.

Orphaned on the arid planet Jakku, Rey had to mature faster than most due to her self-reliant upbringing in the barren wastelands. As time went on, her life became increasingly eventful, but far from secure. Following her journey as a Jedi and training under Luke Skywalker, Rey engaged in the Second Galactic Civil War, a conflict that claimed numerous lives at the peak of combat.

During the year-long war against the Resistance, Rey participated in numerous missions. This conflict culminated in her contribution to the annihilation of First Order troops. However, it was during the Battle of Exegol that her body count significantly increased. In this battle, Rey not only destroyed Emperor Palpatine’s temple but also approximately 50,000 Sith cultists who were within it. As a result, she gained a reputation as one of the galaxy’s most prolific killers.

In the heat of battle, Grievous claimed the lives of countless enemies, including several Jedi, numerous Nightsisters, and an immense number of clone troopers.

In the story of Star Wars: Rebels, C1-10P, also known as Chopper, is part of the Phoenix Squadron. This little droid was often by the side of General Hera Syndulla, participating in many significant missions that ultimately led to the establishment of the Rebel Alliance. Throughout the Galactic Civil War, Chopper appears to have stayed with Syndulla, likely playing a key role in the Alliance’s war strategies.

Although it might seem surprising that a droid like Chopper could be considered the deadliest member of the Phoenix Squadron, his actions speak volumes about the destruction he’s wrought. He is responsible for countless deaths, with many occurring during the Battle of Atollon when he single-handedly destroyed an Imperial Star Destroyer. Furthermore, Chopper has also personally taken the lives of several other astromech droids, demonstrating a ruthless streak that places him among the most bloodthirsty members of the Phoenix Squadron.

Sabine Wren, hailing from Mandalore, had to depart her homeworld unintentionally aiding the Imperial forces in creating a lethal new weapon. Later, she teamed up with Kanan Jarrus and a band of rebels battling against the Empire. Throughout the Galactic War, Sabine fought valiantly and earned heroic status, boasting numerous victories to her credit.

As a part of the Phoenix Squad, Sabine played a crucial role in obliterating numerous Imperial vessels and strongholds, accumulating countless enemy kills. Yet, her most devastating deed was the destruction of the Duchess, an Imperial superweapon stationed on Tiber Saxon’s ship. The cataclysmic blast that followed annihilated the vessel along with the tens of thousands of Imperial soldiers aboard.

Anakin Skywalker was a highly powerful Jedi Knight, one of the greatest ever known, who demonstrated heroism during the Clone Wars. However, he later succumbed to the Dark Side and transformed into the Sith Lord, Darth Vader. For the remainder of his life, which was both brief and wretched, Vader spent his time hunting down and eliminating any surviving Jedi and crushing any uprisings against the Galactic Empire.

In a galaxy filled with notorious killers, it might seem surprising that Anakin Skywalker isn’t often ranked higher. After all, many other characters have been known for destroying ships or space stations carrying numerous lives.
