Diddy Gets Permission for Custom Court Attire Amid Sex Trafficking Trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs will have a new dress code in court.

The rapper, who faces a sex trafficking trial starting with jury selection on May 5, was granted approval by the judge to change into fresh attire for court appearances.

55-year-old Combs is allowed to wear civilian attire during his trial, as stated in the court order secured by TopMob News on April 30.

Although Sean Combs is permitted to dress in business-casual clothing in the courtroom, the judge has imposed restrictions on the number of clothing items he’s allowed to acquire for his wardrobe.

According to the instruction, he’s allowed to own a maximum of five button-down shirts, five pairs of trousers, five sweaters, five pairs of socks, and only two pairs of shoe styles without laces for court appearances.

Apart from one method, Combs has been observed altering his look for the high-profile case. He also made a seldom court appearance in March, appearing in a beige jumpsuit, sporting a grey beard and aged hair. This transformation is evident in the courtroom sketches that have emerged.

In a recent development, Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to federal charges involving racketeering, prostitution, and sex trafficking after his September 2024 arrest, tried to shift his trial from May to July in order to thoroughly examine evidence. However, his request was turned down as the trial date is fast approaching.

Opening statements are expected to begin on May 12.

It is alleged that the creator of Bad Boy Records stands charged for orchestrating the transfer of sex workers, both within the United States and overseas, on several instances. The accusation further states that he did so with the intention that these individuals would engage in prostitution, as reported by NBC News in an indictment they obtained.

Combs’ attorney has denied his involvement in any wrongdoing, saying shortly after his arrest, “This unprecedented ambush—paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence—leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”

For everything to know about Combs’ case, read on.

Agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) carried out searches at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami on March 25, according to several sources within law enforcement who spoke with NBC News. The warrant for the search came from the Southern District of New York, and an HSI spokesperson in New York confirmed that they were executing actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from local partners in Los Angeles, Miami, and other law enforcement agencies. At the time of the searches, it was reported that Combs was in the Miami area.

News emerged regarding an investigation following accusations of sexual misconduct against Combs, which were brought up in lawsuits filed by various individuals since November. The musician has denied these allegations, stating clearly that he is not responsible for the actions being claimed. In a December statement posted on Instagram, he wrote: “I’m appalled by the baseless allegations made against me by people seeking a quick payday. I want to make it crystal clear: I have never committed any of the terrible acts being alleged. I will vigorously defend my reputation, my family, and the truth.

A day after search warrants were executed at both P. Diddy’s Los Angeles and Miami homes, his attorney Aaron Dyer issued a statement. “Excessive military-style force was used during the execution of search warrants at Mr. Combs’ residences yesterday,” Dyer said to TopMob News on March 26th. “There is no justification for the aggressive display of power by authorities and the way his children, employees were treated.” Dyer emphasized that Combs was not detained but voluntarily spoke with and cooperated with law enforcement. The statement further clarified that neither Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested or had their travel restricted in any way. “The unexpected raid combined with a pre-planned, strategic media presence,” Dyer added, “has led to an unfair and premature judgment against Mr. Combs. This is merely a witch hunt based on unsubstantiated allegations made in civil lawsuits.

In other words, Dyer conveyed that Combs intends to vindicate himself from all charges levied against him. Furthermore, he emphasized that no criminal or civil liability has been determined in relation to these allegations, stating unequivocally that Mr. Combs is innocent and will persistently work towards proving his innocence each day.

According to various law enforcement officials who have knowledge of the situation, the searches uncovered some key findings. Agents from the Department of Homeland Security confiscated phones from Diddy’s Miami residence prior to his planned trip to the Bahamas. Furthermore, it was also reported by sources privy to the matter that firearms were found during these searches.

A source close to the situation has informed NBC News that four individuals – three women and one man – have been questioned by investigators from the Southern District of New York regarding accusations involving sex trafficking, sexual assault, illicit drug and gun dealings, which are said to be connected to Combs.

On the same day that search warrants were carried out at Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, one of his associates named Brendan Paul was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on charges of drug possession. This information was shared with NBC News by a source familiar with the situation in law enforcement. According to the arrest affidavit obtained by the outlet, Paul was detained for allegedly having suspected cocaine and marijuana candies. Prison records show that Paul was released on March 26 after posting bond. In a statement shared with NBC News, Paul’s attorney Brian Bieber said, “We do not intend to try this case in the media; all issues will be addressed in court.” In May, Paul agreed to a plea deal, and according to People magazine, his lawyer Bieber stated that “Brendan accepted the prosecutor’s offer to let him enter the diversion program. Upon completion of this program, the entire case against him will be dropped.

On September 16, 2024, as reported by NBC News, he was taken into custody in the lobby of a hotel located in New York City. The specific charges against him have yet to be disclosed, and it remains undetermined if his arrest is connected to any recent raids.

His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed their discontent over the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s decision to pursue a prosecution against Mr. Combs that they consider unjust. They emphasized that while Mr. Combs is not perfect, he is not a criminal. Notably, Mr. Combs has been fully cooperative with this investigation and even moved to New York last week in preparation for these charges.

The lawyer added, “Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Following his arrest on a sealed indictment, the charges against Combs were made public on September 17.

Court documents obtained by NBC News reveal that at age 54, he was accused of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking using force, fraud or coercion, and transporting individuals for prostitution.

The indictment alleges that Combs exploited, threatened, and forced women and others close to him to satisfy his sexual desires, maintain his reputation, and conceal his actions for over a decade. The alleged behavior is said to have begun around 2008.

The documents further state that Combs leveraged the employees, resources, and influence of the extensive business empire he oversaw to create a criminal organization. This enterprise reportedly engaged in various illicit activities, such as sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

As reported by NBC News, Combs pleaded not guilty and was denied bail. This means he claims innocence and will vigorously defend himself with all his strength, as stated by his lawyer Marc Agnifilo before the court hearing. He expressed full confidence in Combs’ legal team.

After being apprehended, Combs was detained at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center without being granted a $50 million bail. The influential figure in music industry was also put under suicide precautions, a routine measure for prominent prisoners, as reported by TopMob News. However, he has since been removed from this watch.

A source informed NBC News that he was placed in the same section of the prison as Sam Bankman-Fried, who is known for his involvement in cryptocurrency fraud.

34-year-old comedian, Jeff Wittek, admitted on September 29 that he attended a wild party hosted by Diddy at his Miami mansion back in approximately 2010, which was known as one of the “freak off” events.

On Jeff FM, Wittek described it as towering approximately 8 stories tall and continuing to rise, each level revealing increasingly bizarre events.

He went on to say, “I witnessed an explicit display of intimacy that evening, which was a first for me. To clarify, I didn’t participate, but I ended up getting quite intoxicated instead.

As Wittek put it, “It’s just crazy. I was literally there. I lived through it.”

At a press conference held on October 1st, I, as an ardent fan in awe, learned from attorney Tony Buzbee that a staggering 120 individuals have emerged to share fresh accounts of sexual assault accusations leveled against the beloved rapper.

In a press conference with NBC News, Buzbee stated that the accusations against Combs involve alleged acts such as:
1. Sexual assault or rape of a violent nature,
2. Encouraging and facilitating sexual activity while under the influence of controlled substances,
3. Sharing recorded videos of these acts, and
4. Abuse of minors sexually.

In a subsequent statement, Erica Wolff’s legal representative affirmed that Sean Combs continues to assert his innocence in response to the accusations.

She stated, “He can’t respond to every groundless accusation in this escalating media frenzy. However, let me clarify that Mr. Combs firmly and unequivocally denies any allegations of sexual abuse, particularly involving minors, as completely false and defamatory.

During a news conference on October 1st, as reported by NBC News, Tony Buzbee, the accuser’s lawyer, stated that one of the 120 individuals making accusations was just 9 years old at the time they alleged they were assaulted by Combs.

According to the attorney, “25 of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.”

I can hardly find the words for the heartache I feel witnessing my beloved son being judged not by the truth, but by a false narrative. As his attorney, Natlie G. Figgers, shared with The Hollywood Reporter on Oct. 6, this public trial before he’s had his chance to clear his name is an agony that cuts too deep. Every human being deserves a fair trial, and it’s high time my son got his day in court, the opportunity to share his side of the story, and to finally prove his innocence.

The attorney for Beyoncé and Jay-Z responded following Piers Morgan’s show where Jaguar Wright implied that the power couple had a greater number of “victims” compared to Diddy.

Lawyer Alex Spiro stated to TMZ on October 9th: “Gossips can sometimes be unfounded, but what we’re dealing with here goes beyond that. This is a clear and direct accusation of something serious.

In response to their lawyer’s instruction, Piers took down the untrue claim he had made earlier, followed by an apology.

On his October 8th program, Piers stated that at the time, they weren’t available to counter or refute the allegations. However, now they have responded: their legal representative has reached out to confirm that these accusations are completely untrue and lack any foundation in reality.

In a revised lawsuit initially submitted in October 2024, defendant Ashley Parkham alleged that Odell Beckham Jr., Druski, and Combs were involved in a group sexual assault against her in 2018, which occurred in March 2025 according to the complaint.

Both men denied the claims.

In March 2025, Combs stood before the court once more, denying charges brought forth in an updated indictment. This update alleged that he had coerced his staff into working excessive hours and made threats against them if they did not comply.

Following a court order that required a woman known as Jane Doe to reveal her true identity and resubmit her lawsuit, which initially was filed in October 2024 against Combs for sexual assault allegations, the case was closed because she failed to meet the deadline for re-filing within the specified time period.
