PS5 Fans Are Begging Sony Subsidiary ANIPLEX to Port The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy

As a devoted fan of Danganronpa and Zero Escape, I’m no stranger to the thrilling world of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel exhilarated about the newest venture from the illustrious studio, Too Kyo Games – a powerhouse formed by the masterminds behind some of my all-time favorite franchises: Kazutaka Kodaka and Kotaro Uchikoshi.

Annoyingly, it’s produced by Sony’s affiliate ANIPLEX, yet it’s not playable on the PS5 at the moment. It was released a week ago on the Nintendo Switch and personal computers (PC).

Although it was eclipsed significantly by the launches of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, it has garnered widespread acclaim, earning an average Metacritic score of 85.

Our friends at Nintendo Life specifically scored it a 9/10, and were effusive in their praise:

Reviewer Mitch Vogel enthusiastically suggests that fans of Uchikoshi and Kodaka’s previous work should immediately give this a try, but even if you’re not particularly fond of visual novels, it’s worth considering adding

Absolutely, due to the strong ties with Sony, the positive endorsements have naturally resulted in a surge of requests for PlayStation 5 ports (i.e., versions of games originally released on other platforms).

One user expressed their hope that the game is running smoothly for a possible PlayStation 5 version, as they’re keen to enjoy it on that platform.

Another added: “Hoping this success leads to a PlayStation.”

Others are simply spamming the official social media accounts asking for “PS5 please”.

Previously, Master Detective Archives: Rain Code by Too Kyo was transferred to the PlayStation 5 at some point, and we’re optimistic about future possibilities. The only uncertainty lies in the timing of when this might happen.
