One of the Best Psychological Horror Movies Ever Is Finally Streaming (But There’s a Catch)

Some films, for various reasons, are more challenging to locate on streaming platforms compared to others. This issue is particularly prevalent in the horror genre, where many classic movies from previous decades seem to vanish from major streaming services, leaving fans puzzled about their absence. For instance, a cult favorite like “The Poughkeepsie Tapes,” which was only accessible as a Blu-ray for years before recently appearing on Prime Video.

On Thursday, the highly anticipated horror film “Jacob’s Ladder” (1990) became available for streaming on a major service, leaving horror enthusiasts everywhere delighted. This beloved psychological horror movie, starring Tim Robbins, was finally added to Shudder’s streaming library, making it accessible on the leading platform for all things horror. Although “Jacob’s Ladder” had some dedicated fans when it initially hit theaters, its true popularity really grew during the era of video stores and VHS tapes.

Over the past thirty years, the fanbase has significantly expanded, and recently, Shudder has made the film “Jacob’s Ladder” easier to reach compared to its previous stretch. Regrettably, the movie’s appearance on Shudder carries a small caveat.

Shudder recently disclosed all the films joining and parting ways with their service throughout May. One of the newly added movies is “Jacob’s Ladder,” which became available on Shudder starting May 1st, but it will also be removed from their selection on May 31st. Therefore, horror enthusiasts only have until the end of May to watch “Jacob’s Ladder” before it vanishes.
