Warning: Spoilers ahead for Doctor Who episode Lucky Day.
Today is a fortunate day for numerous Doctor Who enthusiasts, as they get to witness the comeback of a genuine icon from the Whoniverse – news anchor Trinity Wells, portrayed by Lachele Carl!
In contrast, the latest episode centers around Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), who experiences new events following her escapades with the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa). This installment finds Trinity being held captive by Ruby’s cunning boyfriend Conrad Clark (Jonah Hauer-King), as she communicates to the general public.
After Conrad gets arrested, following his daring move intended to reveal UNIT’s alleged falsehoods, Trinity portrays a heartfelt image on her program (audiences might recall that she started hosting her own show after being recognized at AMNN).

Tonight, the streets of Britain are witnessing a fascist presence. A podcast host has been taken into police custody following an apparently harmless prank.
Following Conrad’s release and exposure of UNIT personnel, such as Ruby and her kin, Trinity resurfaces with the statement: “Conrad Clark has struck a chord. He resonates with the disillusioned youth, and they are heeding his call.
Throughout different phases, Trinity often made brief appearances in Doctor Who, along with Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. This was usually when some extraterrestrial turmoil had struck Earth during the given week, which Trinity would then cover as a news reporter.
In the final installment of the 60th-anniversary series, she reappeared and was portrayed as getting progressively insane under the influence of the Toymaker, played by Neil Patrick Harris.
Trinity wasn’t the only one sharing information about Conrad; instead, she was accompanied by several well-known personalities. Alex Jones, in character, interviewed Conrad on an imitation of The One Show, while Joel Dommett, also playing himself, joked about the news during a mock edition of The Masked Singer.
More celebrity appearances are yet to come; notably, we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of “The Interstellar Song Contest” episode, a part where Graham Norton and Rylan Clark will make an appearance as their real selves.
On the coming Saturday, the 3rd of May, Doctor Who will resume its journey on BBC One in the United Kingdom. Fresh episodes will be accessible starting from 8 am on Saturdays on BBC iPlayer. For those residing outside of the UK, you can catch the series on Disney+.
