Supporters have repeatedly urged ANIPLEX, a Sony affiliate, to transfer The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy onto the PS5 platform. However, it seems that delays might be due to concerns over the financial stability of the game’s developer, Too Kyo.
On BlueSky, Kazutaka Kodaka, co-founder of Too Kyo (alongside Kotaro Uchikoshi, creator of Zero Escape), expressed his eagerness to begin work on new iterations of the game immediately. However, he noted that they are currently teetering on the edge of financial instability.
Last month, during an interview with Nintendo Life, Kodaka mentioned that if the game doesn’t perform well in sales, they might have to call it quits. Fortunately, it has received excellent reviews and seems to be selling moderately well on both the Nintendo Switch and PC platforms.
Despite the timing, unfortunately for Too Kyo, it coincided with the surge of interest in Clair Obscur’s Expedition 33 and the sudden release of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, which overshadowed its launch.
Let’s cross our fingers that our talented development group manages to gather sufficient resources to clear their debts and subsequently begin working on the PS5 adaptation project.
