As an ardent fan, I’ve been thrilled with every episode of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes gracing our screens this Spring of 2025. The sneak peek into the next installment promises the arrival of a ruthless new vigilante ready to shake things up! Initially, we were introduced to Koichi Haimawari, a college student assisting locals in his town. However, it wasn’t long before he was drawn into the exhilarating whirlwind of an unlicensed vigilante hero life. The stakes are now escalating as danger intensifies!
In the latest installments of the fresh anime series, we’ve seen that a lethal drug exists which amplifies criminals’ abilities, turning them into immediate threats. Furthermore, we’ve been introduced to the primary antagonist that Koichi and his team will confront during their mission to uncover this dangerous substance. However, it appears that things are set to become significantly more violent as a sneak peek at My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Episode 5 hints at a formidable new adversary. Take a look in the video above.
How to Watch My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Episode 5
Episode 5 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, named “Judgment”, is set to premiere on Monday, May 5th in Japan. For global viewers, it will be available exclusively through Crunchyroll when it airs. The episode’s synopsis hints at an intriguing plotline: Pop, who often acts decisively and struggles with honesty towards Koichi, has a secret from her past that she hasn’t shared with him yet. Additionally, Iwako, previously captured by Koichi and his companions, resurfaces in the city. With a more powerful “trigger”, Iwako loses control and overpowers Koichi, but then unexpectedly someone else arrives…
The identity of this “newcomer” remains a mystery, but the episode’s sneak peek hints that they are a formidable fighter who swiftly eliminates a menacing adversary that Koichi and his allies would otherwise find challenging. Although it’s questionable whether vigilantes should be operating given the passive behavior of the pro heroes we’ve seen so far, their actions were harmless. However, the sight of one of these vigilantes taking a life is an entirely new scenario, raising significant concerns about their methods and actions.
What’s Next for Koichi?
Koichi has managed to establish connections with some pro heroes from the anime, although they tend to maintain a distance from each other. However, this new vigilante who’s taking action against villains, including one who is quirkless and therefore less of a threat, could make things even more complex for Koichi in the future. This might also stir up additional issues regarding the presence of vigilantes within the neighborhood.
In the primary storyline of “My Hero Academia,” they’ve encountered a similar character to this new vigilante – he was even one of the significant antagonists that Deku and the gang battled. It’s uncertain if this new vigilante is linked to Hero Killer Stain or his approach, but since this spin-off series happens earlier in time, we could be witnessing a fresh perspective on the complex anti-hero, focusing on Koichi and other vigilantes instead.
