Simone Biles is hoping her athleticism is genetic.

In a glance toward their growing family, the Olympic gold medalist and her NFL star husband, Jonathan Owens, shared that their future children are likely to carry on the legacy of sports excellence they have both established.

Simone shared with TopMob News during the 2025 Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY on May 3rd, “Initially, we plan to involve them in sports to help them adjust and learn. However, beyond that, we’re not too fussed about what they choose to do, as long as they discover their true passion.

Indeed, the 28-year-old noted she’ll support her children’s pursuits no matter what.

She continued, “I’ve harbored a deep desire to become a mother and raise children, much like him who yearns for fatherhood. It’s incredibly thrilling for us both.

Simone added, “If they turn into musicians, who cares? That is still phenomenal.”

Currently, the newlyweds, having tied the knot in April 2023, are blissfully spending time together and enjoying one another’s company. Interestingly, they both wore lavender outfits in harmony while attending this year’s horse racing festival.

The 29-year-old Chicago Bears safety expressed that it’s great to step outside your comfort zone and have a good time together. He explained this to TopMob, adding that it’s enjoyable. Since it’s their first time here, they’re incredibly thrilled about the ambiance, the vibe, and getting a peek at all the fashion.

Previously in August, Simone had talked about her future family plans, expressing that having a family was “definitely” part of her plans.

During my interview with Hoda Kotb on Today, I shared that Jonathan and I frequently discuss starting a family. If it were up to him, we’d be parents already. However, we both have personal aspirations we want to accomplish before we embark on parenthood. But, yes, having children is undeniably part of our future plans.
