Bleach Returns to Toonami After Decade-Long Hiatus! Watch the Trailer

Later this month, Toonami’s programming lineup will experience a significant overhaul, welcoming back some popular series. The upcoming premiere of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has recently unveiled a sneak peek at its Toonami debut through a new trailer. Since its rocky journey with Cartoon Network, fans have come to associate more of the current era with Toonami’s revival in 2012 as part of Adult Swim. Originally resurfacing in an April Fool’s Day joke alongside Adult Swim, the action anime block has continued to thrive and is still airing today.

In 2012, Toonami made a comeback, broadcasting a fresh batch of anime well-suited for the block, including the popular series Bleach, which was one of the initial new anime shows during that resurgence. However, when it was taken off the block in 2015 after its conclusion, it didn’t return for a decade. That will change later this month as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is set to air on Toonami starting May, and you can watch the trailer for its premiere below, which was discovered by @swimpedia on X.

I came across an exciting promotion for the upcoming series “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War,” airing on #Toonami this coming Saturday, May 17th at 12:30 AM!

What Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War?

Fans of the classic Bleach series have long awaited the arrival of “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War”, which is now here. The initial run of the show, broadcast on Toonami, ended prematurely before it could cover the final arc from Tite Kubo’s original manga. However, more than a decade later, Bleach has resurfaced with an entirely new anime series, faithfully adapting the final arc from the manga and concluding the story in its entirety.

The anime adaptation of “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War” has been divided into four distinct segments, and the first three instalments have already been released. Production is ongoing for the fourth and concluding part, though a specific release date or timeframe remains undetermined at present. With “Bleach” making its comeback on Toonami with a fresh series, eager fans can now prepare themselves for the climactic conclusion, having followed the anime’s journey since its early days.
