Jalen Hurts Steals the Spotlight at Met Gala After Snubbing White House Visit!

Jalen Hurts is scoring some style points at the 2025 Met Gala.

A week following his absence from the Philadelphia Eagles’ April 28 meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback climbed the steps of fashion’s grandest event alongside his newlywed spouse, Bry Burrows.

26-year-old newlywed attended the recent event at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, donning a sleek, black attire provided by Burberry. His outfit, highlighted with velvet and embellished with gems, included a suit and a matching top. To complete his look, he wore a stylish black beret and a Tiffany & Co. brooch on his tie. In contrast, Bry graced the occasion in a maroon dress embellished with sequins and fringes. (Check out all the stars at this year’s Met Gala here.)

14 days prior to the Met Gala, Jalen received an honor at the TIME 100 Gala on April 25th. His nonchalant response when asked about joining his team for a White House visit made headlines. On the day of the Eagles’ celebration with the president, only three days later, it was confirmed by the White House to NBC News that Jalen couldn’t attend due to scheduling issues.

Luckily, no disputes hindered him from participating in the Met Gala, where he once again shone in his fashion choices. Interestingly, this athlete has become quite the style trendsetter in the sports realm. For instance, at the Super Bowl in February, he wore a striking all-purple suit that echoed a stage outfit Prince might have chosen. Before that, he accessorized a black French beret with a khaki suit as he made his way into the NFC Championship game.

On May 5th, it wasn’t just the University of Alabama alum who attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In fact, besides musicians Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky, actor Colman Domingo, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton (co-chaired the event with Anna Wintour), and honorary co-chair LeBron James were also present.

At the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” event, notables such as Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, WNBA player Angel Reese, and gymnast Simone Biles graced the occasion. All of them were part of the night’s host committee.
