Fresh insights concerning the fresh content within the game Elden Ring Tarnished Edition were disclosed at the initial FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025, which took place today in Tokyo. Japanese media personnel from Famitsu and Dengeki were also physically present at this event, where they reported on the new updates that were unveiled there.
Following the initial unveil at Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April, FromSoftware has been sharing more information about what’s to come. Previously, we knew that players would get new armor for their characters and customization options for Torrent the horse. In this update, FromSoftware announced they are planning to include 4 new armor sets and 3 additional Torrent appearance choices.
Additionally, FromSoftware unveiled two new playable character classes: tentatively named “Knight of Ides” and “Heavy Armored Knight.” These classes will feature in the upcoming Tarnished Edition, with their armor sets being two out of the four new armor sets. The remaining two armor sets can be acquired within the game. FromSoftware also hinted at the inclusion of additional weapons and abilities.

The Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, featuring additional content from Shadow of the Erdtree, is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025. This expanded content will also be accessible through the “Tarnished Pack” DLC for existing Elden Ring versions on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. During a recent event in Japan, FromSoftware announced that the Tarnished Pack DLC would be offered at an affordable price point. Furthermore, they demonstrated the new Tarnished content using the PC version of the game during the event.
