Yungblud has criticized expensive festival tickets, arguing that the current pricing doesn’t reflect the average attendees who desire to be there.
Under his stage name “The Lovesick Lullaby,” Dominic Harrison voiced concerns over rising expenses associated with hosting large-scale events. He contends that these escalating costs are either forcing fans to miss the events due to financial constraints, or leaving them in a difficult financial situation post-event.
Addressing Laura Kuenssberg from the BBC, the 27-year-old expressed: “This is utterly senseless and foolish. It doesn’t reflect genuine individuals at all.
In my perspective, I wouldn’t be able to attend a festival with tickets priced at around £800 each. It seems challenging for me to imagine standing on stage under such circumstances. How do performers feel comfortable with that cost?
As a direct consequence, Yungblud has established his own music event, named Bludfest, that takes place at the Milton Keynes Bowl.
Starting in the year 2024, this upcoming event is scheduled for the 21st of June. Notable artists such as Yungblud, Chase Atlantic, Blackbear, and Denzel Curry will be headlining the show.
Besides Rachel Chinouriri, JXDN, Peach PRC, Luvcat, Master Peace, and Cliffords, several more notable figures are expected to join the roster for this one-day festival, with further details to come.
Harrison said, ‘We felt it was right to return with 20 performances priced at £65 each.’

Growing weary of how the festival market was, I found myself often disrespected by promoters who didn’t take me seriously. In response, I thought to myself, ‘Why shouldn’t I create my own?’
He stated that he isn’t earning anything from the event, but rather “he’s doing it for the sake of the music.
Expressing gratitude for their backing, Yungblud mentioned that discussions have taken place regarding the ticket prices, however he remains firm on the matter, as this year’s Bludfest tickets are priced at £73.25 each.
