Intergalactic: The Rebel Prophet” – In this forthcoming science fiction and action adventure game by Naughty Dog, the talented actress Tati Gabrielle portrays a rogue bounty hunter who finds herself stranded on a forsaken world.
Despite receiving a lot of favorable responses from viewers during the unveiling trailer, it also generated quite a bit of criticism, with numerous internet users expressing harsh comments directed towards the main character, Jordan A. Mun.
In an extensive conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Gabrielle expressed her thoughts regarding the diverse response that followed the unveiling of the game.
She expresses that while she received much affection, there was also a significant amount of hostility due to factors such as her gender, her race, and her shaved head – aspects she hadn’t initially noticed themselves. She further mentions that she’s not actively engaged in current social media trends because of this reason.
Gabrielle mentions that Druckmann has been giving her intense training sessions, akin to the harsh criticism Laura Bailey experienced when playing Abby in The Last of Us Part II.
After noticing the unfavorable responses, it seemed like Druckmann encouraged her by saying, “Disregard that. Regardless, us together, we’re going to create something magnificent. We’re going to craft something that we can be proud of.
In her discussion, Gabrielle highlights the central motif of Intergalactic – the theme of belief. A key aspect of the game’s storyline revolves around a made-up religion, but various other aspects exploring faith are woven into the narrative as well.
She asserts that the matter of belief isn’t simply divided into black and white. Initially, faith might seem synonymous with religion, but it encompasses much more. It includes trusting oneself, one’s surroundings, or one’s community. Essentially, faith is about your convictions, your aspirations. Despite sounding poetic, we encounter faith in our everyday lives. What motivates you to rise every morning? This is what she means by faith.
Intergalactic doesn’t have a release date, but will release exclusively for PS5.
