Kris Jenner Spotted in Paris as Kim Kardashian Prepares to Confront Robbery Suspects in Court

Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble are keeping up with Kim Kardashian.

Kris Jenner, manager of the Kardashian family, and her long-term companion were recently seen in Paris, standing by Kim Kardashian as she readies to testify in the court trial concerning the individuals accused of the 2016 Paris heist that involved Kim.

On the 12th of May, the pair exited their Parisian hotel in coordinated black ensembles and shades. Kris, at 69 years old, wore a long-sleeved dress and leather gloves, whereas Corey, aged 44, sported a button-up shirt and a chain necklace.

Kim, who is 44 years old, has been scheduled to testify about an incident that took place on October 3, 2016, when she was robbed at gunpoint and lost jewelry valued over $10 million, including a 20-carat diamond ring previously belonging to her ex-husband Kanye West, in the French capital’s Hôtel de Pourtalès.

Investigators report that out of the original 12 suspects, five are believed to have been present at the crime scene of the robbery. Among these five, two have admitted their participation, while the remaining eight claim innocence regarding the incident. (One person among the initial suspects has reportedly passed away, and another is said to be too unwell to participate in the trial.)

For Kim, the robbery was “the scariest thing” she’s ever been through in her life.

As I was on the verge of drifting off to sleep, there was a commotion of men climbing the stairs, Kim reminisced in an October 2019 episode of Felony Files. “They were after my ring and jewelry, so I chose not to resist. I simply handed over everything and they bound me up.

She continued, “That ten minutes really changed my whole life.”

Indeed, Kim didn’t set foot in the City of Lights until June 2018. The armed robbery incident made her adjust her security methods, such as avoiding posting her location on social media and being more cautious about her choice of jewelry.

In the 2023 episode of The Kardashians, Kim stated that since she was robbed in Paris, she hasn’t purchased jewelry anymore. She confessed that she had considered stopping her jewelry collection altogether.

Instead, it wasn’t until June 2018 that Kim finally decided to avoid the City of Lights. Moreover, an armed robbery caused her to reconsider her strategies for security. This included avoiding publicizing her location on social media and becoming more discreet with her choice of accessories.

In a 2023 episode of “The Kardashians”, Kim revealed that since she was robbed in Paris, she has stopped purchasing jewelry. She admitted that she was considering giving it up altogether.

Yet, when designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented her with a diamond cross necklace in 2022 as a token of gratitude for directing one of their Dolce & Gabbana fashion shows, Kim expressed that it “restored a sparkle to my elegance.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, allow me to express that this pendant, in particular a diamond-studded cross, signified much more than merely acquiring a piece of jewelry for me. The fact that I was able to reclaim it following an incredibly significant encounter is what makes it truly extraordinary.

Following the armed robbery that occurred on October 3, 2016, during the early hours in Paris, Kim Kardashian abstained from sharing personal content on her social media accounts until January of the following year. Interestingly, this pause in posting coincided with promotional activities for the upcoming season of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, which premiered in March 2017 and included Kim’s initial remarks about the incident.

During that temporary period of collaboration with Parisian officials, she decided to speak out publicly about her family’s long-standing TopMob TV series for the first time.

In conversation with Kourtney Kardashian, who was staying with Kim during their unfortunate journey but wasn’t present at the time of the robbery, and Khloe Kardashian, Kim reminisced about lying in bed wearing a robe, momentarily dozing off as she pondered whether to get up for a face wash.

Later, she heard a rhythmic thumping ascending the stairway heading for her room. Assuming it was Kourtney and her companion returning inebriated, she shouted out.

At that point when there was no response, Kim expressed in a private moment, “My heart suddenly felt very tight, as if my stomach had twisted into a knot. I found myself wondering, ‘What’s happening, what’s happening?’ I could sense that something wasn’t quite as it should be.

Peeking through her slightly ajar door, she caught sight of what appeared to be police officers subduing another man, who later turned out to be the building’s caretaker.

A few moments passed, and Kim found herself unsure about dialing 911 overseas. Shortly after, a man who appeared to be a police officer entered the room, confiscated her phone, and roughly pushed her onto the bed.

She shared with her sisters, “That’s when I knew, ‘This is the moment.'” Reflecting on it brings a wave of distress. She thought, “Either they will betray me by shooting me in the back or if I manage to survive and they don’t, there’s no escape.

Of the jewelry she lost, “It’s all replaceable, none of it matters.”

Before the March 19 episode premiered, Kim explained sharing her story in this way.

In her Instagram post tonight, she expressed that the upcoming episode would be emotionally challenging for her. She accompanied a cherished family photo from Paris, featuring herself, Kourtney, Kendall Jenner, and their mother Kris Jenner. She chose to share her account of this event directly, rather than through an interview where her words might be misconstrued. This experience was profoundly impactful for her, and she feels grateful to be back home with her family. To her loved ones, she expressed her heartfelt thanks for their support during the most difficult times. To the French police, she extended her gratitude for their tireless efforts.

Kim expressed surprise in a May 2017 episode of KUWTK, stating that she hadn’t anticipated the robbers would be caught, given the passage of time. She was unaware of how dedicated the French police were and the significant effort they were exerting in their investigation.

She went on to say, ‘Discovering the extent of people involved and listening to all those details, made me see things from a new angle – a sense of security and safety.’

Eventually, 12 individuals were accused, and out of those, ten stood trial in May 2025. Regrettably, one of the suspects passed away before the trial, while another was found unfit to participate due to illness.

In a 2017 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kim expressed something unusual: “That event was intended for me.” She went on to say, “I’ve changed so much…I truly believe that life events are meant to teach us lessons, and this experience taught me that lesson. Prior to this, I was quite materialistic. Don’t get me wrong, I still admire hard work and success, and I take pride in those around me who have achieved it. But now, I’m overjoyed and proud of the person I’ve become, especially because I no longer prioritize material possessions. Instead, I’m content with who I am, and I’m happy that my children get to see this side of me, as I raise them without a focus on such things.

The woman, known for showcasing her jewels and bringing virtually all of them along to Paris during that particular journey, expressed, “I’m no longer that person.

Kim shared with Ellen DeGeneres that if she had known better, she would have had a security guard stationed outside her door round-the-clock while traveling. She went on to confess that this was an aspect of safety she hadn’t given much thought to before, but now she has several guards for peace of mind during sleep.

Kim didn’t visit the City of Light until June 2018, when she went back to Paris along with her then-husband Kanye West. They were there to attend their friend Virgil Abloh’s first fashion show since he was appointed as the artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton.

Kim reflected to Khloe and Kourtney before the journey, “Though I’m feeling jittery, I believe it’s crucial that we accompany Kanye because it seems significant to him. It feels like the appropriate choice for Virgil.

In a private reflection during an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” she mused, “I have so many cherished memories of Paris. I’m hoping this trip will be wonderful enough to remind me of all the enchanting aspects of Paris and why Kanye and I fell in love with it.

Upon returning to Los Angeles, Kim confessed to her sisters that she felt anxious for much of her journey, but on the whole, she was managing okay.

“It was so good,” she said. “Like, honestly, I’m so glad we went.”

After the robbery, Kim might have discovered a sense of purpose and understanding, and rearranged her priorities accordingly. However, it’s undeniable that the ordeal was incredibly terrifying for her.

She admitted during a 2019 episode of “Felony Files” that it was the most terrifying experience she had ever encountered in her entire existence. What made it so frightening was the realization that death was imminent, and she prepared herself for the instant they would shoot and end her life. Those ten minutes profoundly altered the course of her life.

On an episode of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” which was released in October 2020, Kim shared more details about her personal experience with David Letterman.

Kim shared that two men wearing masks approached her, speaking in French, causing her to suddenly sit up. They repeatedly demanded “The ring, the ring,” which left her confused and alarmed at first. Eventually, she understood they were asking for her engagement ring, which she had placed beside the bed. So, she handed over her ring, but as she did so, he grabbed her. At the moment, she was wearing a robe with no clothes underneath it.

Blinking back tears, Kim added, “I don’t want to ruin my makeup.”

Kim went on to say, “He seized me and dragged me near him. However, I was not wearing anything beneath, which made me think, ‘This is it, I’m about to be sexually assaulted. I need to brace myself, it’s going to happen.’ So I did, and then—I can’t explain why I’m tearing up, as I’ve shared this account before—but then he restrained me with handcuffs, zip ties, and duct tape. He even covered my mouth and eyes with more duct tape.

Prior to concealing her eyes, Kim exclaimed, “I noticed he had discovered my entire jewelry box and was brandishing it triumphantly, saying something like ‘Eureka!’ or ‘Got it.’ However, I continued to focus on the concierge [who had been coerced to open her door under threat of a gun] because I didn’t recognize him, and I thought to myself, ‘What in the world is going on? Are we in danger? Just tell them I have children, I have babies, I have a husband, I have a family, I need to get home! Tell them to take whatever they want, I won’t say I saw them, just take everything!’

In response to being confronted by one of the robbers, Kim Kardashian shared with David Letterman that during the incident, her thoughts were consumed by Kourtney. She feared that she would not make it home alive and if she did, Kourtney would be traumatized upon finding her dead in their shared room. She felt this was her destiny.

However, “the man without a firearm,” she went on, repeatedly said, “If you stay quiet, you’ll be fine.”

Or simply:

But “the unarmed man” persisted by saying, “Stay quiet and everything will be alright.

“He could hardly speak English,” Kim added, “but I was like, ‘Okay, is he giving me a signal?’”

Kim casually mentioned that she’s seen every episode of CSI ever made,” she shared, explaining her attempt to remember the appearance of her attacker for the police, but “all I could recall vanished.

Following her restraint, Kim stated, “He lifted me and placed me in a bathtub, then scooped me up once more and simply set me down on the floor before rushing away.

Following the robbery in Paris, Kim shared on an episode of “The Kardashians” that she has since abstained from buying jewelry. This decision came after Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana gifted her a beautiful cross necklace in autumn 2022 as a token of appreciation for her role as the creator director of their Dolce & Gabbana Spring-Summer 2023 fashion show. Kim explained, “I’ve been less inclined to wear jewelry since it was stolen from me. The experience was unexpected and I wasn’t fully prepared for its impact, but in retrospect, I realized I was ready to let go of it.

She mentioned, “To me, this wasn’t just about receiving a diamond cross pendant. Instead, it represented a return of some of my style or elegance, which is why it holds such significance as it came from a truly impactful moment in my life.
