One of the largest gatherings for anime enthusiasts in North America is Anime Expo, a convention that has been held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California for numerous years. With over 100,000 attendees annually, this event is a highlight for fans everywhere. The next Anime Expo, scheduled for July 3rd through July 6th, promises an exciting weekend filled with special events and world premieres. Among the many attractions, there will be a special focus on the latest installment of the Gundam franchise, titled Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. This event has been named “Gundam Rising in Los Angeles – Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Special Event,” and it will take place on July 3rd from 11:30 AM PT to 2:30 PM.
The unique gathering is set at the Peacock Theater, close to the Convention Center. Confirmed attendees are Kazuya Tsurumaki, director of Gundam GQuuuuuuX, Yoji Enokido, series composer, and Tomoyo Kurosawa, voice actress for Amate “Machu” Yuzuriha. The event kicks off with a movie section from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Talk and Performance segment that concludes at 2:30 PM. It’s unclear which movie will be shown, but it might be the compilation film, Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, which encompasses the first three episodes. The segments will feature a talk show, live music performance, and additional surprises. Tickets for Anime Expo 2025 can be purchased via ShowClix.

What Can Gundam Fans Expect at Anime Expo?
As an ardent fan, I’m sharing some exciting news about the upcoming series, “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”. Reports suggest that it will only have 12 episodes initially, wrapping up by the end of June. This means we might see its conclusion right before Anime Expo 2025 kicks off on July 3rd. However, many enthusiasts are hopeful that a second season with another 12 episodes could be in the pipeline.
It’s worth noting that a typical mainline Gundam anime usually runs for a full 50 episodes. But given the pattern set by its direct predecessor, “The Witch from Mercury”, it’s possible that “Gundam GQuuuuuuX” could follow suit, splitting its story into two seasons of 12 episodes each, with perhaps an introductory episode thrown in for good measure. Here’s to hoping for more action-packed episodes of this incredible series!
Announcing a second season at the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Special Event during Gundam Rising in Los Angeles’ Anime Expo seems logical and fitting, especially if the final episode of the current season airs close to Anime Expo. However, it’s important to note that this is speculative, as major announcements don’t always occur at these big events. These events often serve as a celebration for the brand rather than a platform for marketing future projects. Attendees should primarily anticipate enjoying the franchise and hearing interesting stories from the cast and crew, rather than expecting groundbreaking news.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX
The story revolves around Amate Yuzuriha, a typical high school student, who seizes a cutting-edge mobile suit from the Zeon Principality. This extraordinary mecha, famously known as the GQuuuuuuX, becomes her tool to participate in clandestine fighting arenas called clan battles. The primary enigma of this anime unfolds around the cryptic Red Gundam, manned by an elusive figure named Shuji, whom Machu harbors a deep affection for.
