Persona 5’s Most Controversial Spin-Off Could Be Announced for PS5 Soon

Last year, the mobile gacha game titled “Persona 5: The Phantom X” created quite a stir in several Asian regions, and soon it appears set to sweep the globe by emptying the pockets of players across the world.

On their official social media platforms, Atlus West has begun hinting at a new venture related to Persona 5, and Sega’s latest financial statements suggest that a spin-off of the game will debut in Japan by the end of this summer.

In the tweet posted by Atlus, they used an owl emoji, hinting at Lufel – a character resembling Morgana but from The Phantom X series.

It’s clear that in addition to its international version, publisher Perfect World is planning a console launch as well. It appears highly likely that this game will be playable on the PS5, considering the success of other gacha games on the platform, such as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.

In case you’re unfamiliar, this no-cost game plays much like Persona 5, striking the same rhythm of social interactions and dungeon exploration. However, rather than the original game’s calendar, it uses an energy system that recharges over real-world time.

In our revised version, the combat system still follows a sequence of turns, and the creative minds behind the original Persona 5 have contributed in areas such as artwork and various other elements.

This game might turn out to be a moderate success on the PS5. With its well-known brand, it’s likely to attract more players to give it a go.
