Sunny Dancer – FIRST LOOK PHOTO

Embankment Films and Night Train Media have unveiled a sneak peek of “Sunny Dancer,” currently being filmed in Scotland. This upcoming project, a second feature by director and writer George Jaques (“Black Dog”), is scheduled to hit screens in 2026. The plot for this film promises to be quite intriguing.

Title character “Sunny Dancer” narrates the tale of Ivy (Ramsey), initially reluctant when mandated to join a summer retreat for adolescents dealing with cancer. Having fought her way back to health, Ivy sees this “Chemo Camp” as awkward and unappealing. However, the story unfolds to reveal that Sunny Dancer is about transforming what she thought would be an ordeal into the most treasured experiences of life through affection, genuine friendships, and laughter.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that this upcoming movie boasts an exceptional cast. Bella Ramsey, known for her role in “The Last of Us,” is among them, as well as Daniel Quinn Toye from “Voltron.” Joining them are Jessica Gunning (“Baby Reindeer”), James Norton (“Happy Valley” and “Bob Marley: One Love”), the versatile Neil Patrick Harris (“A Series of Unfortunate Events” and “Gone Girl”), and Ruby Stokes, who charmed us all in “Bridgerton.”

The ensemble also includes Earl Cave from “Days of the Bagnold Summer,” newcomer Jasmine Elcock, Conrad Khan from “County Lines,” Shalom Brune-Franklin (“Dune: Prophecy”), Josie Walker (“Kneecap”), and Louis Gaunt, who graced our screens in “Bridgerton.” This promising lineup has me eagerly anticipating this movie!

Upon unveiling the initial photo of “Sunny Dancer,” executive producer Herbert L. Kloiber from Night Train Media expressed his excitement, stating, “George’s storytelling, filled with emotion, wit, and an inherent positivity, has captivated us. The cast is coming together to create a vibrant display of optimism, and George demonstrates great confidence as a director.

Ken Petrie, the producer, commented, “Our exceptionally talented young cast members share a truly remarkable camaraderie. This bond carries through from our early morning meetings, during lunch breaks, and even long after we’ve finished shooting for the day. The chemistry you’ll witness on-screen is a genuine representation of a close friendship.
