Towards the end of last year, the intriguing collaboration between the game Palworld and the cherished survival game, Terraria, was initially disclosed. Since then, we’ve had sneak peeks of a few in-game items, but there’s always been a hint that more is on the way. With the significant update for Palworld set to release in December 2024, it’s no shock that the next major unveiling for this collaboration is… a massive new update! At last, the veil has been lifted from the full Terraria collaboration update for Palworld, and judging by the previews, it promises an extensive wave of new content for the game.
Following their announcement of a collaboration with Terraria, Pocket Pair has been relatively quiet about further details. However, during December’s major Feybreak update, we did get a glimpse of the Palworld x Terraria content. This update came packed with new content and introduced a new weapon, Meowmeow, which draws inspiration from Terraria. In the patch notes, Pocket Pair hinted that this was merely a taste of what’s to come from their collaboration. Now, we have a clearer understanding of their intentions.
In a recent announcement, Palworld unveiled several previews of its upcoming significant expansion – a collaboration with Terraria titled “Palworld: Tides of Terraria“. This collaboration introduces creatures from Terraria as new capturable Pals for trainers. However, this isn’t the only exciting addition to the game. Similar to previous major updates, the forthcoming content update for Palworld will offer new islands to explore and new Pals to catch. These initial images of the collab are merely a hint of what’s in store, as Palworld plans to reveal more sneak peeks over the coming weeks.

In the images displayed, fans of Palworld and Terraria get an early peek at some upcoming content with the Tides of Terraria update for Palworld. Although we don’t have a specific release date yet, it is planned for “this summer.” Fingers crossed that means we only have to wait a few months before Terraria creatures start appearing in Palworld!
What’s Coming in the Next Major Palworld Update
At the moment, details about the upcoming significant update for Palworld are scarce. Nevertheless, glimpses from the sneak peeks and official unveiling of Tides of Terraria provide us with some clues. It’s been confirmed that this major update will incorporate Terraria-style monsters into Palworld. Furthermore, these creatures can be captured, trained, battled, and utilized in various ways similar to Pals.
The pictures demonstrate some of these hybrid creatures in motion, as well as what appears to be a potential new fishing feature. Fishing is a common aspect in numerous games, and it seems that Palworld won’t pass up the chance to incorporate its Terraria collaboration by introducing fishing as another activity available on the Palpagos islands. Given that Terraria already has a fishing mechanic, similar to many popular survival games, it makes sense to include it along with other collaboration content.
During the “Tides of Terraria” update, you can expect the collaboration content, but that’s not all! As per a recent update on Steam, Pocket Pair has some exciting plans for the upcoming summer “Palworld” update too. Similar to other major updates, we can look forward to discovering new islands and capturing new creatures. However, whether the new islands will be larger than those previously encountered remains to be seen as further hints are released in the coming weeks.
In simpler terms, you can play ‘Palworld’ on personal computers, Xbox, and PlayStation gaming systems. The ‘Tides of Terraria’ update is expected to roll out during summer 2025; the specific release date will be announced at a later time.
