Traitors fans, assemble! There is some very exciting news.
Following several months of rumors and intriguing airport snapshots, the BBC has officially announced the roster of well-known personalities participating in Celebrity Traitors!
As I step into the grandeur of a Scottish Highland castle, I find myself once again in the company of Claudia Winkleman, our enchanting host. This time, she’s ushered in an exceptional ensemble of actors, eager to engage in the ultimate game of cunning, deceit, and treachery.
The following individuals will be part of the ensemble for The Celebrity Traitors: comedian Alan Carr, vocalist Cat Burns, thespian Celia Imrie, vocalist Charlotte Church, and broadcasting personality Clare Balding.
Historian David Olusoga, ex-rugby player for England Joe Marler, comedian Joe Wilkinson, television host Jonathan Ross, and broadcaster Kate Garraway are also set to join the upcoming series.
Or, more casually:
Historian David Olusoga, former England rugby star Joe Marler, jokester Joe Wilkinson, TV guy Jonathan Ross, and broadcasting queen Kate Garraway will be a part of the new show too.
As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to announce that the talented comedian Lucy Beaumont, the versatile actor Mark Bonnar, the hilarious Nick Mohammed, the creative mind Niko Omilana, the melodious singer Paloma Faith, the gifted actress Ruth Codd, the esteemed actor Stephen Fry, the beloved EastEnders star Tameka Empson, and the accomplished Olympian Tom Daley are joining our cast.
This fall, various celebrities will engage in a competition on BBC One and iPlayer, with the winning prize being a £100,000 donation to a charity they’ve chosen.
Winkleman commented about the series, “It’s truly fortunate that such talented individuals agreed to participate. Unfortunately, they won’t be lounging around the castle eating toast for two weeks as one might assume; it wouldn’t be truthful.
Ever since The Traitors premiered on BBC One and iPlayer in 2022, it has amassed a completely loyal fanbase and experienced extraordinary growth throughout its three seasons. The most recent season averaged approximately 10.3 million viewers over 12 episodes, with the premiere episode drawing in an impressive 10.9 million viewers.
As a dedicated viewer, I can’t help but marvel at these shows that have become the most popular unscripted series in the market since ITV’s I’m a Celebrity in 2022, and they’ve even claimed the top spot among viewers aged 16 to 34. It’s hard not to get hooked!
Moreover, the accolades keep rolling in, as the show has been honored with the BAFTA TV Award for Outstanding Reality & Factual Series, the National Television Awards (NTA) for Best Reality Competition, the Royal Television Society (RTS) award for Excellence in Entertainment, and the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Top Entertainment Programme.
