*Warning: Contains major spoilers for Andor season 2 episodes 10-12.*
After being acclaimed as the top Star Wars installment in years, Andor has demonstrated the strength of exceptional television. Now, it’s time for the series to conclude with the final episodes of its second season.
In episodes 10-12 of the show, we witness the significant moments that shaped Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) into the rebel leader we recognize from Rogue One. These episodes also portray the emotionally charged decisions and heartrending sacrifices essential to the rebellion’s success.
1. The series finale is action-packed, with a climactic battle between the rebels and the empire.
2. Luthen Rael, played by Stellan Skarsgård, plays a crucial role in leading the rebellion against the empire.
3. Mon Mothma, portrayed by Genevieve O’Reilly, is a key figure in the rebellion and works closely with Luthen.
4. Dedra Meero, played by Denise Gough, is a character who initially works for the empire but eventually joins the rebellion.
5. The series finale resolves several plotlines, including the fate of the rebels, the future of the galaxy, and the characters’ personal journeys.
Buckle in – it’s an emotional one.
Andor season 2 ending explained: Why did Bix leave Cassian?
In the concluding scene of Andor season 2, it’s evident that Bix (Adria Arjona) chose to part ways with Cassian when she found out she was expecting a child. The show wraps up poignantly, leaving viewers with a mixture of sorrow and optimism, as we see Bix, fortunately still alive, returned to Mina-Rau, tenderly cradling her newborn in her arms.

Apart from clarifying, I also wished to explain clearly the reason behind Bix’s departure, as it can be a complex situation. This should help remove any uncertainty about the circumstances surrounding her leaving.
Gilroy implies that the finale of the show leaves a mixed feeling for us. Since it’s clear how things will unfold in Rogue One, we understand that Cassian will never get back together with Bix, nor discover his child who he has not even had the chance to meet.
However, this also implies that Cassian’s influence continues, and in typical Andor fashion, it effectively conveys the significance of his sacrifice.
Why did Kleya kill Luthen?
Kleya, or Elizabeth Dulau, eliminated Luthen to prevent him from being captured by the Empire and subjected to brutal interrogations for their secrets.
It seems plausible that Luthen may have instructed her earlier to eliminate him, should he find himself in a situation where his secrecy could be breached and sensitive data might be revealed.
Sadly, prior to witnessing Kleya’s act against Luthen, we delve deeper into their unique father-daughter relationship and uncover the factors that strengthened this bond over time.
We debated various possibilities regarding our direction, but I firmly believe it stands clear, honest, and uncompromisingly real.

Gilroy mentioned: “Over the years, we discussed various character backgrounds. I didn’t clearly outline the backstory until we began planning for season 2, and it was then that we decided to produce a self-contained episode.
Furthermore, I must confess that at the outset, we weren’t aware of the extraordinary talent that Elizabeth Dulau would turn out to be; indeed, she’s more like a theatrical rockstar.
Or:
Initially, we didn’t know it, but Elizabeth Dulau was destined to become an exceptional actress – quite literally a thespian rockstar.

Upon Luthen’s demise at Kleya’s hand, I found myself disregarding orders and venturing forth to save her. She seemed hesitant about departing for Yavin following Luthen’s fate, referring to it as a “bitter conclusion” – yet Cassian stood firm, refusing to abandon her.
ISB eventually tracked them down, but with the aid of K-2SO, they were able to fight their way free and successfully reach Yavin.
In that setting, Cassian shares with the group details about Luthen’s demise and reveals some intelligence from Lonnie – namely, that the Emperor’s energy project is merely a disguise for weapon production, and that there seems to be a link between the devastation of Ghorman, Kyber mining on Jedha, an engineer named Galen Erso, and future events.
What happened to Dedra Meero?
In a wonderfully fulfilling finale for Dedra Meero, it emerges that she has been imprisoned on Narkina 5.

She stated: “It’s quite fulfilling for the audience, as she deserves a punishment, despite trying to infuse some human qualities into these characters. However, I’m not an actor who insists on loving my character. Instead, I say, ‘I most certainly do not!’
I find her actions reprehensible throughout the entire season, but I was pleased to see where she ended up. I can’t get enough of it. There is no escape, no possible way out whatsoever.
What happened to the rest of the rebels?
At the conclusion of the previous episode, a group of surviving rebels had assembled on Yavin. Among them were Cassian, Kleya, Mon Mothma, Bail Organa (played by Benjamin Bratt), Vel (Faye Marsay), Wilmon (Muhannad Bhaier), and others.
As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of excitement and anticipation as we witness Genevieve O’Reilly’s character bring the entire series to a climax. The rebels, who have been apart for what feels like an eternity, are finally reunited in one location – a moment that promises to be nothing short of electrifying!

Starting from such diverse points, scattered across the map, and for them to arrive at that crucial location together as depicted in Rogue One – it held great significance to me.
Additionally, they remember those who have passed on. Vel, Cassian, and even take a moment to honor Vel’s friend Varada Sethu (Cinta), Luthen, and Cassian’s mom, Maarva (Fiona Shaw) with a toast.
In the grand scheme of things, I can’t imagine Yavin without Luthen. His presence seems to be the cornerstone upon which everything else stands. Yet, it’s as if he’s a mystery wrapped in enigma. Some people may not know him, others might dislike him, or have had less than pleasant encounters with him. But his impact is undeniable.
In most significant upheavals or types of change, those who play a crucial role often find themselves overlooked once the movement has gained momentum.
Why does Cassian go to Kafrene?
Cassian learns that Tivik (Daniel Mays), a valuable informant of his, is currently stationed on Kafrene and is willing to communicate with him exclusively. Superior Officer Bail provides Cassian with instructions – to make haste towards the contact point without delay.
The events unfold, starting with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the mission to Kafrene’s Ring in the Star Wars chronology, where Tivik alerts Cassian about an upcoming Imperial weapons test – a powerful device fueled by kyber crystals, capable of annihilating entire planets.

Previously, Gilroy had outlined his intention to bring Andor season 2 all the way to the beginning of Rogue One’s scenes, and he’s successfully managed this with great flair.
Now, it’s time to say goodbye to Cassian and co.
Not only has Gilroy significantly elevated the quality of Star Wars storytelling on television with only two seasons, but there’s a strong possibility that this could bring about a positive transformation for the entire franchise and its narrative direction moving forward.
