The much-anticipated second season of “Call of the Night” anime will grace our screens this coming summer, with HIDIVE being the exclusive platform to watch these fresh episodes as soon as they’re released. The first season of the anime adaptation from Kotoyama’s original manga series concluded in 2022, but it wasn’t until last year that the announcement for a second season was made. Since then, production has been moving forward, and we can finally look forward to its premiere this summer.

It’s been confirmed that Season 2 of “Call of the Night” will be airing in Japan sometime in July as part of the Summer 2025 anime lineup. HIDIVE has announced they’ll exclusively stream these new episodes once they become available. Although a specific release date for the new season hasn’t been set, HIDIVE is planning an early premiere for the second episode of the season this coming Summer at Anime Expo 2025. As part of their upcoming plans for Season 2, HIDIVE has revealed they’ll be hosting a special panel for “Call of the Night” at Anime Expo 2025 on July 5th (Saturday). The event will take place from 5:45 PM to 6:35 PM Pacific Time in the JW Platinum room. This panel promises a sneak peek into Episode 2 of the new season, followed by a Q&A session. To stay current before the new season begins, you can watch all episodes from Season 1, which are now streaming exclusively on HIDIVE.

What to Know for Call of the Night Season 2

For the upcoming season of “Call of the Night”, the team from the initial season is reassembling. Tomoyuki Itamura will once again take charge as director for Liden Films, with Tetsuya Miyanishi stepping up as the lead director. Michiko Yokote will pen the scripts for this new chapter, while Haruka Sagawa will create the character designs. The voice actors from the previous season who are returning include Sora Amamiya (as Nazuna Nanakusa), Gen Sato (as Ko Yamori), Yumiri Hanamori (as Akira Asai), Haruka Tomatsu (as Seri Kikyo), Eri Kitamura (as Niko Hirata), Shizuka Ito (as Kabura Honda), and Naomi Ozora (as Midori Kohakobe).

Rina Sato is set to join the cast of “Call of the Night” for its second season, taking on the role of Kiku Hoshimi, a character who develops a relationship with Mahiru, a friend of the protagonist. HIDIVE previews the upcoming season by saying, “As Ko grapples with his transformation into a vampire and chooses to express affection towards Nazuna, Nazuna vows to make Ko fall deeply in love with her. Unaware of what ‘love’ truly means, they spend their nights entwined in a whirlwind. Meanwhile, Detective Uguisu Anko is relentlessly pursuing her mission to eliminate vampires, not only targeting Nazuna.

The summary goes on to reveal, “A vampire’s vulnerability lies in something they were connected to during their human life, prompting them to discard these ties before it’s too late. However, Nazuna has no recollection of her human existence. What is the secret past of Nazuna? Why does Anko take on the task of slaying vampires? And what concealed truth links Nazuna and Anko together? For Ko, Nazuna, and Anko, their entertaining ‘late-night’ chats do not cease at sunrise; instead, a fresh ‘night’ commences!
